Muong Lap festival, Thach Lap commune is preserved and promoted by the people.
Quang Trung is a commune with more than 86% of Muong ethnic people. This is one of the typical communes of Ngoc Lac district that cares about preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Along with the Muong language used in daily communication, Muong women's costumes are used on holidays and Tet, the commune also established a cultural and artistic club (VHVN) to preserve and promote traditional cultural values. Accordingly, in the commune, there are 11 VHVN clubs and teams, which organize monthly activities to teach members folk songs of the Muong ethnic group. The clubs and art teams also actively participate in VHVN competitions and performances organized by all levels. Thereby, creating a healthy and useful playground for the people, promoting the development of the commune's cultural and artistic movement.
Vice Chairman of Quang Trung Commune People's Committee Pham Ngoc Bien said: In order to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, every year the commune has developed and implemented a plan to preserve and promote national cultural identity. Mobilizing people, especially artisans and prestigious people in ethnic minorities, to actively participate in activities to preserve cultural identity. Organizing many competitions, performances, and cultural exchanges, contributing to preserving traditional cultural identity, creating motivation to spread the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" more and more widely in residential areas.
To preserve and promote traditional cultural values, Ngoc Lac district has issued a plan to preserve cultural heritage for the period 2020-2025, focusing on preserving typical cultural heritages and cultural heritages at risk of fading away. Develop projects: "Preserving and developing traditional stilt houses of the Muong ethnic group associated with developing community tourism in Ngoc Lac district for the period 2021-2025"; "Developing tourism in Ngoc Lac district to 2030"; compile the Ngoc Lac Tourism Encyclopedia. At the same time, direct communes and towns to step up propaganda to raise people's awareness of the significance of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values; organize Vietnamese cultural activities, games, and performances not only during holidays, Tet, and festivals, but also at cultural activities in residential areas, agencies, and schools. Focus on organizing training courses on preserving traditional culture. From 2021 to present, the district has coordinated with provincial and ministerial agencies and units to organize 9 training courses on preserving traditional culture.
With the participation of the Party Committee and the government, traditional cultural values are preserved and promoted by the people in the district. Currently, the district has 3 national intangible cultural heritages, including: Pon Pong performance, the art of performing love songs of the Muong ethnic group, and the art of performing folk songs of the Muong ethnic group. In addition, many unique folk cultural forms of the ethnic groups in the district are preserved and promoted, such as: Folk performing art of singing songs of the Muong ethnic group; lullaby; social customs and beliefs of the Muong mo; turtle dance, Tet nam cung, Tet nhay of the Dao ethnic group. The district also maintains and develops many unique festival activities imbued with national cultural identity such as: Water procession ceremony in the Ban Bu cultural - tourism festival; incense offering ceremony of Trung Tuc Vuong Le Lai associated with Lam Kinh festival; Muong Lap festival...
Currently, Ngoc Lac district is focusing on developing a community tourism model associated with preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in Thach Lap commune. Along with that, connecting Thach Lap community tourism site with the historical relic site, scenic spots, cultural space of Ban Bu cave, Trung Tuc Vuong Le Lai temple in Kien Tho commune, Le Lam temple in Phung Giao commune... to develop spiritual tourism. This is a new direction that not only contributes to preserving the national cultural identity but also creates jobs and increases income for the people.
Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Ngoc Lac district, Pham Dinh Cuong, said: Traditional cultural values are preserved and promoted by ethnic minorities in the district. In the coming time, the district will continue to strengthen State management of the collection, preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values. Promote propaganda andeducation of people's self-awareness in preserving and promoting cultural heritage associated with tourism promotion. Pay attention to, encourage and motivate artisans and people who understand traditional culture to actively participate in passing on cultural values to the younger generation.
