20-year-old 2m tall Brazilian star causes stir in world volleyball village

Helena Wenk Hoengen was born on February 11, 2005 in Joinville, Brazil. She is asserting her position as a main striker at Sesc RJ/Flamengo Club and has made her debut for the Brazilian national volleyball team in 2024 at the VNL tournament.

With a height of 2m and a weight of 68kg, Helena's presence on the court is extremely prominent. In addition to her figure, her sharp and beautiful face also makes volleyball fans around the world flutter.

Helaena began her career at Colégio Elias Moreira, initially in swimming before switching to volleyball and quickly showing her talent.

The 2005-born athlete's career has made great strides. She has won many prestigious titles at youth levels, including a silver medal at the 2023 Pan American Games .

Two bronze medals at the U21 World Championship in 2023 and 2025. And a Gold medal at the U21 South American Championship in 2022, where she was also named the Second Best Striker and Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

At the recent 2025 U21 World Championship in Indonesia, Helena shined once again, leading Brazil to a bronze medal. She scored 23 points in the bronze medal match against Bulgaria, including 17 attacks, 4 blocks and 2 aces. Throughout the tournament, she scored a total of 120 points in 9 matches.

With what she has shown, Helena is considered one of the most promising young talents in Brazilian volleyball. She is expected to continue the tradition of her seniors, combining strength, skill and courage to turn pressure into impressive performances.
