The opponents of the Ho Chi Minh City table tennis pair are Le Hoang Thuy Lam and veteran player Nguyen Thanh Luan from Dong Nai . The pair Dieu Khanh - Van Nam are considered to be better because they have been given the opportunity to compete abroad regularly.

However, in the first game, it was the Dong Nai players who took the initiative. Among them, Nguyen Thanh Luan, with his extensive experience, had many good defensive situations, neutralizing the opponent's annoying loops.

Under unexpected pressure, even the athlete who has won many titles like Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh also failed to serve. The pair Thuy Lam - Thanh Luan won unexpectedly 11-9 in the first set.

Van Nam and Dieu Khanh took the initiative to attack and brought home an 11-9 victory, thereby tying the score at 1-1. The same score appeared in game 3, helping the HCMC team lead 2-1.

In a desperate situation, the two Dong Nai players played with determination in the 4th set and at one point took the lead. However, at this time, the physical strength and battle experience of Dieu Khanh and Van Nam continued to be brought into play. Their difficult but precise moves helped them win 11-8, thereby achieving a 3-1 overall victory.

This result helped Ho Chi Minh City table tennis team win their third gold medal at this year’s National Championship. Previously, they won the championship in the women’s team and women’s doubles. Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh won all three gold medals and is expected to win her fourth title in the women’s singles on the evening of May 26.
