Former Secretary of Vinh Loi district and many officials were disciplined

Kinhtedothi – Mr. Luu Van Liem, former Secretary of Vinh Loi district, Bac Lieu province, and a number of leaders of this district have just been disciplined for violations in the financial sector.

On December 10, a source from the Economic & Urban newspaper said that the Party Executive Committee of Bac Lieu province has just implemented a decision to discipline Mr. Luu Van Liem, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Lieu province, former Secretary of the Vinh Loi District Party Committee, by reprimanding him. Mr. Luu Van Liem was disciplined because he was responsible as a leader, for being lax in leadership and management, allowing his subordinates to commit violations in the financial field while holding the position of Secretary of the Vinh Loi District Party Committee.

Regarding the above incident, the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee also imposed Party discipline in the form of warnings on other officials, including: Mr. Vo Van Sau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Vinh Loi District; Mr. Nguyen Minh Dao, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Organization Committee of Vinh Loi District Party Committee.

In addition, the Party Executive Committee of Vinh Loi district also implemented the decision to discipline the Party in the form of a warning against Mr. Duong Duc Thang, District Party Committee member, Party Secretary of Long Thanh commune, former Chief of Office of Vinh Loi District Party Committee; and to discipline and reprimand Mr. Ho Huu Tien, District Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Organization Board of Vinh Loi District Party Committee.

The Inspection Committee of Vinh Loi District Party Committee also decided to discipline Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Deputy Head of the Organization Committee of Vinh Loi District Party Committee, by reprimanding him.

The announcement of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee shows that Mr. Vo Van Sau, in his role as Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Vinh Loi District, together with the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, agreed on the policy of spending Tet gifts in 2022, which is not in accordance with the regime, norms, and standards.

As the deputy head of the Party Committee, directly directing the activities of the advisory and support agencies of the District Party Committee, in charge of the District Party Committee Office and directly directing the Party's financial work, Mr. Vo Van Sau lacked exemplary leadership, management, and strict inspection and supervision, allowing the District Party Committee's Organization Board and the District Party Committee Office to establish payment and settlement documents for many contents that were not in accordance with regulations (false payments and settlements, not to the right subjects, incorrect norms, incomplete payment documents according to regulations, wrong authority). Specifically, he made false payments to individuals with an amount of more than 190 million VND. Of which, 10.5 million VND was spent on buying tablets; more than 30 million VND was paid to compensate for personal advances for business trips; monthly expenses were more than 152 million VND...

Mr. Truong Thanh Nha, Secretary of Vinh Loi District Party Committee, said that the amount of money wronged by the individuals involved has been basically resolved. Regarding Mr. Vo Van Sau, after the province reviewed and implemented the disciplinary decision, the Standing Committee of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee decided to remove Mr. Vo Van Sau from the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Vinh Loi District.
