Nguyen Mai Quynh Anh comes from a farming family in An Hoa commune, Tam Nong district and her passion for martial arts led athlete Quynh Anh to karate when she was a student at An Hoa 1 Primary School. In 2018, Quynh Anh was discovered and selected by the coaches of the Tam Nong district karate team through the district karate championship.
Coach Pham Van Tien - Tam Nong District Karate Team, said: “We discovered great potential in Quynh Anh, so we decided to select her for the district team to continue training her to develop her expertise. During the training process, the coaching board was surprised by her outstanding qualities in performing technical movements and guided her to practice her strengths in kata (form). Responding to the coaching board's expectations, Quynh Anh strived to complete difficult exercises and high-volume lesson plans, thereby helping her progress quickly compared to her peers.”
After winning the gold medal in the kata event at the provincial age group karate tournament, in July 2020, Quynh Anh was selected to join the Dong Thap Karate Talent Team. With her innate qualities, passion for training, and the dedicated training of Dong Thap karate coaches, Quynh Anh made rapid progress in both physical and technical aspects. In a training environment with a team of excellent national coaches, the young martial artist from Dong Thap strives to keep up with high-intensity exercises. Closely followed by coach Do Thi Thu Ha - Women's Kata Team (Vietnam karate), Quynh Anh not only approaches difficult techniques and experiences but also learns a lot about will and determination in training and competition. After nearly 2 years of training at the national team level, the female martial artist born in 2009 has made remarkable progress, asserting herself through tournaments where the coaching staff has given her the opportunity to compete.
The year 2024 marks the peak performance of athlete Nguyen Mai Quynh Anh in the women's karate youth team (Vietnam karate).
