Stage 22 of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup - Ton Dong A 2025 from My Tho City to Can Tho City has a route of 117km. The most notable of which is the very long escape effort of racer Nguyen Truc Xinh (Ho Chi Minh City - New Group).
After the start, the pace of the race was pushed very high with continuous attacks. A group of nearly 20 riders immediately separated from the large group and took the lead. Among them were several strong riders.
At this time, Nguyen Truc Xinh was still stuck in the back group. However, the race continued to be chaotic and the racer from Ho Chi Minh City had squeezed into the front group.
Then he boldly kicked out to leave all his opponents behind. Truc Xinh alone took the lead when there was still nearly 20km left in sprint 1 in Cai Lay district (Tien Giang).
While his opponents were still struggling with tactical calculations, Truc Xinh just led the race alone, overcoming the sun and wind to rush forward. As a result, he won both sprint points to the surprise of his fans.
But around the last 30km, the Vinh Long team started to surge. They led the second group to chase Truc Xinh with the aim of bringing Nicholas Kergozou (620 Vinh Long Agriculture) to the finish line in a sprint.
So despite his best efforts, Truc Xinh was caught by the crowd while going down the Can Tho bridge. At this point, he was only about 7km from the finish line. Although he could not escape successfully to the finish line, the effort of the Ho Chi Minh City - New Group racer to solo more than 70km was commendable.

The rest of the stage was a series of exciting attacks aimed at preventing the Vinh Long riders from putting Nicholas Kergozou in a good position in the sprint.
However, the New Zealand foreign player once again proved his class with a strong momentum, reaching the first level in Can Tho City.
The ninth stage victory of the race also helped Nicholas Kergozou firmly consolidate the overall green jersey.
After 22 stages, Mikhail Fokin (Loc Troi Group) still retains the overall yellow jersey. Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Sang (Le Fruit Maxxis Dong Nai) continues to hold the overall orange jersey for the best Vietnamese racer.
On April 28, the racers will compete in stage 23 from Can Tho City to Ben Tre City with a route of 134.5km.
