Prime Minister requests Ministry of Public Security to quickly investigate fake milk and fake medicine cases

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to strengthen coordination and strictly handle the production and trade of fake medicines and fake milk.

Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 55 has just been sent to the Ministers of Public Security, National Defense, Health , Industry and Trade, Finance, Culture, Sports and Tourism and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

In this dispatch, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to strengthen coordination and strictly handle organizations and individuals involved in the production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods.

According to the head of the Government, recently, the Ministry of Public Security and other authorities have continuously discovered and investigated many cases of production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health food on a large scale and over a long period of time, causing public outrage.

In order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of management, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle the production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Public Security to speed up the investigation of discovered cases.

The Ministry of Public Security was also assigned to coordinate with relevant agencies to urgently handle and direct local police to continue to monitor the situation, promptly detect and prevent violations, and not let any violations escape.

At the request of the head of the Government, the police need to strengthen the handling of violations of the law related to the production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health foods.

With the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister requested to step up inspection of compliance with legal regulations on pharmaceuticals and food safety, while paying attention to strengthening state management of cosmetics, not allowing violations to occur.

The Ministry of Health also needs to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in investigating and handling cases of production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods; at the same time, review legal problems for timely amendment and supplementation.

The Prime Minister reminded the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Defense and localities to step up inspection and supervision of circulation and distribution activities at retail channels, agents, e-commerce platforms, etc., promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle the production and trade of counterfeit goods.

Units also need to resolutely implement tasks and solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud, production and trade of counterfeit and poor quality goods, especially fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinates with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies in reviewing and handling violations in advertising activities in the press, on the internet, and on social networking platforms related to cases of production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods.

In addition, the Prime Minister requested localities to direct the organization of peak periods of general review and inspection of compliance with laws on pharmaceuticals and food safety for establishments trading in medicines and health protection foods in the area and strictly handle violations.

In particular, according to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to urgently review and recall fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods that have been discovered in the area, to promptly prevent and minimize harm to people.
