On the evening of November 6, Coach Kim announced the list of 23 players of the Vietnamese team to gather during FIFA Days in November 2025, preparing for the match with the Laos team in the 5th match of Group F, the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

Compared to the last training session, this time the list has two "new recruits": center back Khong Minh Gia Bao (HCMC Police Club) and midfielder Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong (HCMC Becamex Club). The duo of players have played outstandingly in the V-League recently and are the faces that promise to bring a breath of fresh air to the national team.
Khong Minh Gia Bao, born in 2000, is considered a central defender with good tracking and pressing ability, and good physical strength. Gia Bao grew up at the People's Public Security Club, then played for Phu Dong Ninh Binh before joining Quang Nam Club, then transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Police in August 2025. Previously, Gia Bao played for U20 Vietnam and was considered one of the young defenders with good form in Vietnamese football.
Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong was also born in 2000, coming from the Becamex Binh Duong (old) training camp. He possesses good speed, technique and long-range shooting ability. In the 2025-2026 season, he shined in the Becamex TP HCM shirt, and was highly appreciated by experts for his versatile attacking ability. Viet Cuong used to play for U16 Vietnam and U23 Vietnam.

In addition, fans also received good news when striker Nguyen Xuan Son returned to the Vietnam national team after nearly a year off to treat an injury. Xuan Son returned to training with Nam Dinh Club since October 2025 but has not officially played.
The return of Nguyen Xuan Son is also considered a positive signal for the attack. Up to this point, Xuan Son has fully recovered and is ready to return to the national team.
This training session coincides with the key training period of the Vietnam U22 team in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games. Therefore, some U22 players who have been present in the national team in previous training sessions will not appear this time.
Coach Kim Sang-sik is holding the best personnel of the Vietnam team. The stability of the force, the harmonious combination of experienced pillars and talents who are at their peak.
Rated higher than Laos in this rematch, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team confidently aim to win 3 points, thereby raising the chance of winning a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.
