In the border area of Lang Son , the female editor silently preserves the cultural and ideological “border” with a loyal heart to the Party and modern thinking. Not only is she a sharp writer in the political field, she is also the one who contributes to bringing local journalism out of the “lowlands”, reaching out to young people with new and effective forms of communication.
Journalist Hoang Diep Hang, Editor of the Electronic Newspaper - Digital Content Department, Lang Son Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television Station (PT-TH), is a testament to the spirit of local journalists who are idealistic, devoted to the people, and loyal to the Party in the flow of the digital age.

The one who holds the ideological position on the digital frontier
Born into a revolutionary family in Dong Kinh ward (Lang Son province), growing up with memories from her grandfather - a veteran who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, Diep Hang soon nurtured the desire to tell stories of the times with her pen. Graduating with honors from the Faculty of Literature (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi), she returned to work at the Newspaper and Radio and Television Station of Lang Son province.
In the early days of her career, the journey to work in the mountainous border areas was not without hardships: lack of equipment, difficult roads, and little experience. She brought along a tape recorder and traveled to the villages to listen and record the people's feedback.
One of her most memorable memories was a business trip to Coc Man village, Hoang Van Thu commune (Lang Son province) - where the whole village only had a cassette player as spiritual food, and the village chief Hua Van Long, although illiterate, persistently mobilized the villagers to contribute to building new rural roads. When meeting her, the village chief emotionally said: "Every day when we climb star anise trees, we bring along some rice balls and tie a small cassette player to our backs. The villagers have listened to many of your radio broadcasts. Now we get to meet you in person, how precious!"
It was that simple saying that made her realize: Journalism is not just about recording events, but also bringing the voice of everyday life to places that need to be heard. That thought made her respect her profession even more, devoting herself to works that serve the people.
In nearly 15 years of journalism, she has produced hundreds of journalistic works and won many awards such as: Third Prize in the National Writing Contest "Vietnamese Youth Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality, and Style" (2017); Third Prize in the National Literature and Arts Award (2022); and many Lang Son provincial journalism awards.

From village stories to national politics
Not stopping at works about people's livelihood and life in the highlands, Diep Hang gradually affirmed her professional abilities when entering the field of political journalism.
At the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day organized by Lang Son province, she received a certificate of merit from the provincial People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in journalism. Having the opportunity to meet and talk with her on the sidelines of the conference, I asked: "What fate brought you to politics?"
She smiled: “I love literature, writing light things. But since 2019, when I became the Vice President of the Provincial Youth Theory Club, I started to interact and realize that social networks are flooded with distorted information, I understood that I could not stay out of it.”
Her first work, “Cyberspace - A Front That Cannot Be Ignored,” was written from those concerns and submitted to the 2nd Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation in 2022. The article surpassed more than 116,000 works nationwide and won the C prize. “I didn’t think I would win the prize, I just hoped someone would read it and absorb it. But how can dry political essays reach young people? I know I have to go further,” she shared.
In 2023, she entered the contest with a series of 3 articles "Protecting the cultural and ideological borders from endogenous strength". The work warns of the risk of losing national culture, pointing out the subtle infiltration of foreign cultures, with a familiar writing style and easily accessible evidence. The work won the B prize, affirming her maturity in modern political discourse.
In 2024, she continued to impress with a series of 3 articles "Light and Faith", a brave work that explored a sensitive topic: Religion in modern society. Approaching many victims of evil cults, she was troubled when she saw cases where even intellectuals and party members still blindly believed in them. "The harder it was to approach, the more I had to find out why they believed. I could not remain silent in the face of such tricks," she said. The work surpassed more than 468,000 entries nationwide and won the C prize.
Winning the national political award for three consecutive years, Diep Hang not only left her personal mark but also affirmed the position of local journalism in the front line of protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Comrade Nguyen Dong Bac, Editor-in-Chief of Lang Son Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television Station commented: "Comrade Diep Hang is a young journalist with sharp thinking, solid political views, daring to think, daring to write and especially always maintaining a firm political stance on all topics."
Digital content production and development team - a new model
Not only is she sharp in words, as the Head of the Digital Content Production and Development Team, Diep Hang is also a pioneer in proactive political communication. She and her team members built a video bank using social media language to convey correct ideas, crushing fake news from the seed, which was evaluated by the Provincial People's Committee as a pioneering and effective model in digital transformation of local journalism.
A recent video identifying and refuting false information about traditional festivals has attracted nearly 500,000 views and more than 7,000 comments after only 3 days of posting. Vi Thi Thu Hang, a student at Lang Son Pedagogical College, shared: "For the first time, I understand why we need to be careful when sharing information!". It is not only the effectiveness of communication, but also the effectiveness of ideology when the message reaches the right time, in the right way, to the right person.
As of May 2025, the team has produced more than 23,100 videos on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube... platforms, attracting 27.9 million views, more than 9.3 million interactions, mostly from young people in the highlands. Many clips help young people identify fake information, "separate the bad from the good". Comrade Nguyen Van Chung, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, assessed: "Compared to many other localities that are still confused, the team producing and developing digital content is a breakthrough model, effectively combining political commentary and social networks, contributing to creating an ideological "green zone" in the digital space".

Silent warrior in cyberspace
Not only working in digital media, Diep Hang also actively participates in training young people in theory. As Vice President of the Provincial Youth Theory Club, she directly participates in training at schools and youth organizations, talking about the role of journalism in ideological struggle, helping young people identify false information and strengthen their political will.
“Today’s youth are very perceptive. As long as they have the right companion, they will become the core force on the ideological front,” she affirmed. Without dogma or stereotypes, she chose a close approach, speaking in the language of young people, explaining false information with everyday examples that are easy to understand and remember. Diep Hang’s approach is one step ahead, persistently sowing the right ideology so that from there, the seeds of positive awareness can sprout in the hearts of young people.
From a girl who loves words to a sharp political journalist, Hoang Diep Hang is quiet but resilient on the ideological front. Like a peach blossom from Lang Son - simple and enduring in the cold border region, she combines the spirit of revolutionary journalism with digital thinking, responding quickly and accurately to multi-dimensional information. In the era of information explosion, when ideology is invaded by the "virus" of fabricated words, she chooses to tirelessly devote herself to spreading the Party's ideals with modern thinking, a passionate heart and a sharp pen.
She is proof that: From the provincial level, local press can still create brave ideological warriors, contributing to maintaining the Party's political and spiritual stronghold. For her, journalism is not only about recording current events, but also about the mission of instilling faith, preserving identity, and nurturing ideals. That is the image of a new-age journalist: Courageous - dedicated - sensitive, always at the forefront of ideology.
