On the afternoon of November 19, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Vietnam Education Trade Union held a ceremony to honor outstanding teachers and managers in 2023. 200 outstanding teachers representing more than 1.6 million teachers nationwide were awarded by the Minister of MOET on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
Speaking at the Commendation Ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized: Each teacher honored today is a typical example, selected from among more than 1.6 million teachers nationwide.
According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son: "To have dignity, first of all, teachers need to do their job well so that they have the spirit and full awareness to preserve the dignity of the profession."
These are teachers from remote areas of the country who have achieved many successes in teaching and have creative ways of implementing policies, guidelines and decisions of the education sector over the past time.
In particular, many teachers have overcome difficulties and challenges to complete their assigned tasks well and excellently.
Among them, many teachers have overcome difficulties, stayed with their schools and classes, volunteered to work in mountainous areas, remote areas, especially difficult areas, border areas, and islands, and devoted their youth to their beloved students.
Teachers have devoted all their efforts and intelligence to the noble cause of "cultivating people". No matter the circumstances, teachers always uphold the ethics of their profession, devote much effort to the cause of cultivating people and creating noble values for society and life. That is both the determination and the support for teachers to follow the profession and fulfill their mission well.
“The Education Sector and the Ministry of Education and Training always respectfully acknowledge, commend and thank teachers for what they have, are and will contribute to the cause of educational innovation in our country,” said the Minister.
Sharing about the ongoing educational innovation process, the Minister affirmed that the teaching force plays a decisive role in the success of this entire process and said: Innovation is both an opportunity and a challenge for teachers. Looking at it positively, the innovation process is an opportunity for each teacher to change themselves, innovate, equip and accumulate new and more advanced knowledge and skills, successfully implement teaching work, equip knowledge, skills and develop necessary capacities for students.
“In that process, the biggest challenge and opportunity is to innovate ourselves and overcome the limitations of each teacher. Therefore, the innovation of teachers is the innovation of our education sector”, the Minister said, and also said: The Ministry of Education and Training identifies that developing the teaching staff is an important factor, a sustainable foundation, deciding all successes of education and training.
The leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training have been, are and will be trying to do everything and take every measure to improve the position and develop the teaching force both in quantity and especially in quality. Besides recognizing the very meaningful contributions of teachers, the Minister of Education and Training sent a message to teachers about the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the spirit of overcoming themselves.
According to the Minister, if we only overcome difficulties without overcoming ourselves, our education will only stop at overcoming difficulties. And the horizons of human development do not stop at overcoming difficulties. Therefore, there is still a lot of work for us to do ahead, although overcoming difficulties is extremely valuable.
Referring to the "spread" as an innovation factor in reality, through reality, through the liveliness of experience, the Minister shared: The country's educational innovation career begins with the Party's policies, begins with institutions, policies, instructions, and regulations, but theory cannot be as green as life. Teachers are the ones who implement innovation in reality and through their experience and efforts, teachers are the first ones to succeed in reality.
The task of the teachers, those who are honored as exemplary, advanced, and excellent, is to contribute to spreading what they have been passionate about, spreading what they have done, spreading what they have accumulated. "I hope that the 200 teachers with their successes will continue to spread in their departments, in their professional groups, in their schools, in their villages... That way we will have more opportunities to spread our experiences in reality," said the Minister.
Emphasizing that innovation is a process, there is always a gap between policy and practice, the Minister said: The Ministry of Education and Training, as a state management agency that issues policies, listens to teachers to continue to adjust, so that their innovation will be theoretically and orientedly innovated, but cannot replace the change in reality of the teachers themselves.
“We always keep in mind that teaching is a noble profession and always needs to maintain dignity. But to have dignity, first of all, teachers need to do their job well so that they have the spirit and full awareness to maintain the dignity of the profession. This is a prerequisite for us to affirm the sustainable value of the profession, the good values of the profession spread to society”, emphasizing this, Minister Nguyen Kim Son also sent teachers his best wishes on the occasion of the anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).
