Hanoi Cheo Theatre launches new play "The Singer"

“The Singers” tells the story of the singers of Kham Thien street, the girls of Ngoc Ha flower village, the workers, the intellectual artists... who unanimously followed the Viet Minh, operating secretly in the heart of the temporarily occupied city.

They are examples of ordinary people who refused to live a life of slavery and were determined to stand up and die for their beloved Hanoi .

Author Bui Vu Minh was very clever in choosing a historical theme but using storytelling through the a dao singers, so the story becomes softer and more lyrical, even though the atmosphere of the play is full of fighting fire in the fight to liberate Hanoi.

A familiar story of the war days, but still has new elements that create appeal for the audience.

Right at the performance report, the play "The Singer" received many compliments from the Arts Council from the script, staging to the sweet and smooth acting of the artists participating in the play.

The play "The Singer" was written by Bui Vu Minh, directed by People's Artist Tran Hoai Thu, artist Dang Minh Tuan was in charge of fine arts, People's Artist Thanh Hoai instructed the Cheo singing, Meritorious Artist Le Tuan was the program director, and People's Artist Thu Huyen was the art director.

The play features the participation of artists: People's Artist Thanh Loan, Meritorious Artist Quoc Phong; artists: Quynh Trang, Xuan Truong, Quang Bien, Hong Tham, Thuy Nga, Thanh Huyen...

People's Artist Thu Huyen, Deputy Director in charge of Hanoi Cheo Theater, said that the play "Nguoi hat a dao" is an artistic work invested by the theater to introduce to the audience on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

From now until the Capital Liberation Day, October 10, "The A Dao Singer" will be performed regularly, the performance schedule will be announced on the Theater's Facebook page.
