On April 1, the Do Theater project located in the Vega City Nha Trang resort - art - entertainment complex was officially inaugurated on the occasion of the 370th anniversary of the construction and development of Khanh Hoa province. Notably, this is also the first private theater project to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh . With a unique design imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity, the Do Theater and the daily art performance "Life Puppets - Puppet Dream" promise to become a new international-class cultural - artistic center in Nha Trang.
Impressive architecture imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity
That Theater, a name that has aroused curiosity in anyone who hears it for the first time. In fact, the architecture of the theater is also extremely unique when it was designed based on the inspiration from the "that" - a traditional fishing tool of the Vietnamese people. Shaped like a giant "that" located on Nha Trang Bay, this is also a rare project in Vietnam that meets the strict standards of international-class performing arts.

The project has a total area of 2,500m2 , with 536 seats, the entire mechanical system, stage techniques, sound and lighting are imported directly from Europe. Along with other international-class facilities located in the Vega City Nha Trang resort - entertainment - art complex, the Do Theater is a combination of traditional and futuristic architecture to fully bring the emotions of Vietnamese folk art, as well as contemporary art of the world. In the future, the Do Theater is expected to become a "meeting place" for many artists and art, culture and entertainment programs for tourists when coming to Nha Trang.

In particular, the establishment of the Do Theater is a vivid demonstration of mobilizing social resources to invest in cultural and artistic products. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: “Ministries, departments and local sectors need to mobilize resources for cultural development, investment, management and operation of cultural and social platforms and institutions, and preservation of indigenous cultural values associated with tourism promotion activities for domestic and international tourists.” In particular, Khanh Hoa province cooperated with KDI Holdings Group to develop the Vega City Nha Trang Coastal Arts - Resort - Entertainment Complex with the Do Theater to increase the attractiveness of the locality.
These cultural and artistic products will be the difference that helps Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa attract more domestic and foreign tourists, thereby raising the tourism status of the coastal city.

Unique indigenous cultural art program "must see" when coming to Vietnam
Starting the chain of artistic, cultural and entertainment values at That Theater, the international art show "Life Puppets - Dream Puppet" is built on the story of the 12 zodiac animals typical of Eastern culture, subtly applying folk materials, distilling the quintessence from time-stained cultural regions but still approaching the contemporary art language. At the first co-presentation stage in the world, Dream Puppet is a show that innovates the heritage of water puppetry and new types of puppetry such as shadow puppetry, string puppetry combined with a Southeast Asian native orchestra.

At “Dream Puppetry”, all performances and music performances take place live, with manual methods to bring the most authentic emotions to the audience. Here, the audience can watch Vietnamese water puppetry performances, but presented in a completely new way with expressive bamboo puppets, timeless love stories and life stories. In particular, unlike the traditional water puppetry stage, there is a separation between the performers and the puppets through a curtain. The program at That Theater is where the puppets and artists appear as one or more characters. In addition, the audience can also enjoy a completely new type of puppetry - Animated Puppetry, which is a performance that combines motion sensor technology and contemporary dance to create interesting scenes of cartoon characters about the 12 zodiac animals. The art of string puppetry at That Theater is combined with Tangram puzzle pieces to bring about the magical transformation and expression of the 12 zodiac animals. The Vietnamese traditional orchestra includes instruments such as mouth harps, leaf trumpets, tinh lutes, gongs, baranung drums, ghi nang drums, and clay drums... blending together to create captivating sounds for listeners.
