World billiards champion Chang Jung Lin (Taiwan) was found dead suddenly at a hotel while participating in the 2025 Indonesia Open 10-ball Pool Billiards Tournament.

At 10am on July 14, Chang Jung Lin (40 years old) still played normally and won 2-0 against Tommy (Indonesia) in the last 32 round. According to the schedule, in the next round, Chang will meet another Indonesian player, Yoni Rachmanto, at 4pm.

However, the organizing committee staff discovered that Chang Jung Lin had died at the hotel due to a heart attack. The news of Chang Jung Lin's death was officially confirmed by the World Pool Association (WPA) at 9:00 p.m. on July 14, shocking many people.

In an article about Chang Jung Lin's passing, WPA called him a "legend" and hero of Taiwanese billiards. "We have lost a legend, but Chang Jung Lin's spirit and contributions will never be forgotten," WPA affirmed.

Chang Jung Lin is one of the world's top billiards players. He was ranked No. 1 in the WPA rankings and won dozens of major and minor titles, including the 2012 World Eight-ball Championship.
