After the movie Tunnels: Sun in the Dark was released, the song Sun in the Dark (music: Hua Kim Tuyen, NTB) received a lot of love from the audience.

Not only is it the background music for the film's end credits, the song is also a proud summary of the resilient struggle of the ordinary people who became underground soldiers in Cu Chi.

The song was performed by two actors in the film, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh (as Uncle Sau) and Diem Hang Lamoon (Ut Kho), making the audience feel the message of the film even more.

MV Lyrics of the song Sun in the Dark, soundtrack of the movie Tunnels

The sun in the voices of Cao Minh and Diem Hang Lamoon

The Sun in the Dark opens with a beautiful voice, a straight singing style, both calm, slow, clear, heroic, tragic, and a bit classic of Meritorious Artist Cao Minh.

Possessing skillful vocal techniques, a wide range, and the ability to go high and low gracefully, the introduction is no trouble for the veteran artist.

The bright and dark vocals change flexibly, even going very low, the artist feels like he is suppressing himself while singing, contributing to expressing the excitement of the people living in the tunnels.

But it was also that voice, resounding, strong, solid like the earth. Cao Minh's singing part seemed to lead the rhythm, lead and also tell the story.

In the role of an experienced soldier, "Uncle Sau" Cao Minh recalls the days of defending the tunnels, enduring bombs and hardships to protect his homeland.

Right after that was Diem Hang Lamoon with her clear voice and Southern folk colors, creating a harmonious contrast.

If the voice of Meritorious Artist Cao Minh is understood as the embodiment of the veteran generation, then the voice of Diem Hang Lamoon represents the enthusiastic young generation, ready to inherit and continue the career of their predecessors.

The Saigon Choir's choir section then filled in with the voices of Cao Minh and Diem Hang Lamoon. All blended together in the surging, powerful Southern folk sound.

Audience says 'deserving of soundtrack of the year'

The song "Sun in the Dark" was written by Hua Kim Tuyen in 13 days with arrangement by NTB. The lyrics were written by Hua Kim Tuyen and director Bui Thac Chuyen.

The song starts with a slow, calm melody, then gradually rises and becomes strong like the spirit of the tunnel soldiers: besieged, deprived but never defeated.

That is the resonant voice of millions of Cu Chi people echoing in the darkness of the tunnels.

Commenting under the MV lyrics of Mat Troi Trong Ban Toi posted on musician Hua Kim Tuyen's YouTube channel, many viewers shared their feelings for the soundtrack in particular and the film The Tunnels in general.

Account @huyenvu5689 said "so touched that I cried, I've been looking for the soundtrack for days, now the official version is available. Thank you to the film crew for creating such a wonderful film. The male voice is strong, firm and determined, the female voice is soft, lovely and decisive, it penetrates deep into the heart".

Friend @tuankiet3473 sent thanks for the ending song that played when the audience went out of the theater and saw the current peace , which was the most beautiful ending that director Bui Thac Chuyen told the audience.

Some audiences appreciated the passage "Someday, when the glorious nation has the opportunity to return to this land that still bears... The tunnels of that year are now clear and cloudless, the sun shines on the silver river" because it sounded like veterans revisiting the place where they once lived and fought, thinking of their brothers, friends, and comrades who had fallen behind.

Some people said they haven't seen the movie but when listening to the music they want to exclaim: "Thank you, South, the citadel of the Fatherland"...

"Too emotional, goosebumps", "Is anyone listening to it over and over like me", "Wish the song will soon reach the top trending", "Deserves to be the soundtrack of the year"... are other comments.
