Musician Tran Manh Tuan aims for healing music

(Dan Tri) - The appearance of musician Tran Manh Tuan with the familiar sound of the saxophone at the music night in Ho Chi Minh City moved many people.

After a stroke in 2021, artist Tran Manh Tuan underwent three brain surgeries. At times, his family and close friends were mentally prepared for his passing, but a miracle happened.

After nearly 2 years in the hospital, he gradually recovered and returned to life and music . Recently, artist Tran Manh Tuan performed again. During the Sound healing concert 2025 held in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of September 6, the appearance of the male musician moved many people.

Although his voice is a bit hard to hear and he still needs a cane and other people to help him step onto the stage, when he puts the saxophone to his lips, Tran Manh Tuan seems to dispel all the audience's worries about his health.

In the program, he brought his new composition called Sen combined with artists playing the zither, guitar, piano... The song is imbued with the Vietnamese spirit with soulful highs and lows mixed with unique exchanges between artist Tran Manh Tuan and zither artist Hai Phuong, delighting the audience.

During the performance, he did not forget to introduce the names of each artist accompanying him in a hoarse and emotional voice in response to the audience's enthusiastic applause.

The male artist also sent a message about the impermanence and finiteness of human life when performing the song "Cat Bui" by musician Trinh Cong Son.

Artist Tran Manh Tuan has a special relationship with the late musician Trinh Cong Son. Sharing during the concert, the saxophone artist said he once witnessed the moment when the talented musician's heart slowly stopped beating. Because of that, he realized the impermanence, reminding himself to cherish life and the loved ones around him.

Having gone through many events, Tran Manh Tuan's music now focuses on peace and tranquility. In the near future, he plans to release many songs with healing themes. At the age of 55, the artist devotes all his time to his family and music, focusing on meaningful work and contributing to the community.

In addition to the appearance of artist Tran Manh Tuan, the music night also attracted attention with the appearance of Ms. Ani Choying Drolma, a famous meditation singer from Nepal.

For the first time in Vietnam, the public can directly enjoy the singing of the person known as "the voice that touches the heart", "the voice that heals", and is also a symbol of Zen music.

For over three decades, her music has left its mark in many countries, inspiring kindness and positivity. At the end of the performance, the audience stood up and gave a long standing ovation to pay tribute to Ani Choying Drolma and the artists.

In 2006, while on tour in Europe, artist Tran Manh Tuan suddenly discovered that his two kidneys had problems. He had to immediately return to Vietnam for dialysis and maintained dialysis for 1 year, until his brother, who was 12 years older than him, donated a kidney to him.

In 2021, the male artist suffered a stroke, underwent many surgeries and was in a coma for a long time, and was thought to have died. After nearly 2 years in the hospital, he gradually recovered and returned to life and music.

During the time he was facing illness, Tran Manh Tuan always had his wife Kieu Dam Linh by his side.
