Over the past five years (2020-2025), responding to patriotic emulation movements launched by industry leaders, the staff and employees of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in all sectors from editorial boards, press offices, to technical and logistics units have worked hard and creatively, excellently completing assigned political tasks. Movements such as "Fast-correct-accurate-good information," "High-quality photos," "Continuously bringing newspapers to readers" are not just slogans, but have become concrete and practical actions, contributing to bringing the flow of official, timely information, spreading widely to all regions of the country.

From the emulation movements, many reporters and journalists, especially the young generation, have continuously devoted themselves, innovated, demonstrated their professional qualities and high sense of responsibility to the public. They are advanced examples, sharp "writers" who have contributed to affirming the role and position of VNA - the main national news agency in the information flow of the new era.

Committing to the profession

As a reporter for the News and People Newspaper, residing in Ho Chi Minh City, journalist Hoang Kim Tuyet (pen name Hoang Tuyet) is one of the typical faces in the patriotic emulation movement of VNA in the period 2020-2025.

Assigned to provide information on social and people's issues, journalist Hoang Tuyet always maintains a spirit of dedication, closely following reality to provide quick and timely information, especially during the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic in many localities.

Not afraid of difficulties and dangers, reporter Hoang Tuyet was present at the "hot spots" of blockades, field hospitals... to record authentic images, capable of moving readers about the anti-epidemic efforts of the people and government of Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to her professional work, as an active citizen, for the community, Ms. Tuyet has proactively participated in volunteer activities, connecting with sponsors to have food and necessities to support many people in difficulty during the period of social distancing.

After the pandemic, Hoang Tuyet continued to explore discovery topics, sharply reflecting the breath of urban life and major social issues. With many in-depth series of articles, over the past 5 years, journalist Hoang Tuyet has won dozens of prestigious press awards from central to local levels, and was awarded the title of Emulation Fighter, certificates of merit from the General Director of VNA and many organizations.

In addition, as a union member of the News and People Newspaper, Ms. Tuyet actively participates in charity activities to promote the movement "Accompanying the difficult areas" initiated by the Newspaper to contribute to spreading the spirit of charity in the community.

Journalist Hoang Tuyet shared: “My efforts and achievements in the past time are all thanks to the support from the Editorial Board of Tin Tuc Newspaper, from the leadership of Representative Office B2, who promptly directed and oriented me so that I could perform my duties well.

In the coming time, I see that I need to strive to complete the professional and technical tasks assigned by the agency and editorial office, and at the same time actively develop many series of articles and in-depth topics to have many journalistic works participating in national and local competitions."

Steel in the pen - Fire in the heart

Dedication, courage, passion and responsibility are the outstanding qualities of young journalist Vo Manh Hung (pen name Hung Vo), reporter for VietnamPlus e-newspaper - one of the typical faces in the patriotic emulation movement of VNA in the period 2020-2025.

With more than 10 years in the profession, Hung Vo always chooses difficult, thorny topics with great social impact, from "hot spots" of environment, land, education , to the smoldering problems in policies and people's lives in remote areas.

“In my journalism career, I often choose 'hot' topics, old topics, even very old topics that are still painfully existing, then I am determined to analyze deeply, clarify the causes and propose fundamental solutions. There are topics that I pursue for 3 months, some for 1 year, 2 years, 5 years. There are even series of articles that I have been thinking about for 10 years; I prepared more than 60 sets of interview questions to send to leaders of provinces and cities across the country, and at the same time directly went to nearly 20 localities to grasp information,” journalist Hung Vo said.

Struggling with the topic, investing as much effort as possible, journalist Hung Vo always wants to reflect to the public real issues, shortcomings that need to be resolved, voices from the grassroots, from the people - things that the press needs to speak up to promote positive change.

Thanks to that, in the past 5 years, "writer" Hung Vo has published many series of articles that not only create strong public opinion, but also contribute to directly impacting the process of adjusting and building policies. Some contents have been accepted by the law drafting agency and added to important legal documents such as: Law on Environmental Protection 2020, Law on Land amended 2024, Law on Geology and Minerals...

“During my work, I once got a blood infection while investigating through the mountains and forests, had a high fever of nearly 40 degrees, and had to be hospitalized for nearly half a month; almost had traffic accidents many times; and was threatened while pursuing 'hot' topics... There were times when it was difficult, and there were times when I lived in fear of retaliation. But after all, I always cherished the profession and was more deeply aware of the care, encouragement, and support from the agency's leadership and the leadership of VietnamPlus e-newspaper. It was that care and support that 'fueled' me to truly live my journalism career and devote myself with the spirit of 'steel in the pen, fire in the heart,'" Hung Vo shared.

With more than 40 major journalism awards, from national to industry and local levels, journalist Hung Vo is not only a sharp writer, but also a typical example for the young generation of VNA reporters today: Courage - Responsibility - Commitment - Aspiration for innovation.

Be present at the hot spot, stick to real life

With a spirit of perseverance, endurance and quietly shining through specific contributions, reporter Nguyen Thanh Liem - VNA's resident office in Can Tho is one of the shining examples of the VNA's patriotic emulation movement in the 2020-2025 period.

Over the past five years, young journalist Thanh Liem has always completed and exceeded the quota in all three types of information (written news, photos, television), with more than 2,500 news, articles, photos, and videos published. He has also been particularly proactive in coordinating with colleagues inside and outside the industry to produce dozens of in-depth articles, reflecting many "hot" issues of the Mekong Delta such as: Traffic congestion, fuel shortage, riverbank erosion, drought and salinity, green agricultural conversion, renewable energy...

Accordingly, the spirit of “being present at the hot spots, sticking to real life” is clearly demonstrated through each topic and each information product of journalist Nguyen Thanh Liem. Not only does he discover problems, he also persistently pursues and suggests solutions, contributing to spreading new policies and bringing positive inspiration to the community.

The series of articles “Bringing renewable energy into agricultural cultivation in the Mekong Delta” that he initiated was made into a Mega-Story on the VietnamPlus E-newspaper and won 4 central and local journalism awards. His article about the good deed of an airport cleaner who picked up a diamond and returned it to a passenger was not only widely spread, but also contributed to a national campaign to commend “good people, good deeds”.

With a high sense of responsibility, diligence and creativity in professional work, Nguyen Thanh Liem has been a grassroots Emulation Fighter for 3 consecutive years, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the General Director of VNA, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, along with more than 15 press awards at all levels, including 2 Central-level B prizes and many First prizes at regional, provincial and city levels in 2023-2024.

“The joy and motivation are multiplied many times each time my works touch on life issues, are recognized by the public, are praised by agency leaders and receive journalism awards. Those recognitions are a great source of encouragement for a young reporter, but the greatest honor for me is still being a VNA journalist, contributing a voice, reflecting the aspirations of the people of the West,” journalist Thanh Liem shared.

For young, talented, courageous, passionate and daring journalist Nguyen Thanh Liem, emulation is not just a slogan, but an attitude in life, a way of working - serious, persistent and responsible towards readers, towards the industry, towards the land where he is working.

Looking back on the past 5 years, a journey filled with experiences in the dynamic yet challenging Mekong Delta, journalist Thanh Liem feels more deeply about his role.

“Each word, each photo, each clip is not only a journalistic product that VNA reporters send to the public, but also their thoughts, feelings, and concerns about the transformation of the 'Land of Nine Dragons', from highway projects connecting the delta to agricultural models that adapt to climate change.

In the context that Can Tho city is striving to become a regional center and the digital age with artificial intelligence (AI) is posing many new challenges, I tell myself to make more efforts, continue to learn and innovate to bring sharp, multimedia journalism products worthy of the trust of industry leaders, colleagues and the public," said journalist Thanh Liem.

Over the past five years (2020-2025), under the strong flow of the VNA's patriotic emulation movement, many "young writers" have shone with their sense of responsibility, dedication and unceasing desire to contribute. They are not simply reporters and journalists, but "soldiers" on the information front, always sharp in every word and courageous in every working situation.

These outstanding faces not only contribute to spreading the value of revolutionary journalism, but also inspire and kindle the professional flame for colleagues who are writing daily to continue "news" in the new era./.
