On the afternoon of November 6, Tran Van On Secondary School (Tan Dinh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) announced that students in grades 6 and 7 will leave school at 3:45 p.m., and students in grades 8 and 9 will leave at 4:00 p.m., nearly one period earlier than usual. Tomorrow (November 7), the school schedule will be adjusted similarly.
The school also guides teachers to upload lessons to the LMS system so that students can study at home, and arranges supervisors, security guards and medical staff to be on duty to support and direct students at the school gate after school.

At Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School (Sai Gon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), all students were allowed to go home at 3:40 p.m. on November 7. Club activities will be arranged to make up for the time. The school also arranged for a nanny to look after students until 5 p.m. to support parents who could not pick them up on time.
The move to adjust school hours was made by schools to proactively respond to the weather in Ho Chi Minh City due to the impact of storm Kalmaegi (storm No. 13) and high tides, ensuring safety for students and convenience for parents to pick up and drop off students.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to closely monitor weather developments and flexibly adjust their schedules to avoid students leaving during heavy rains or high tides. At the same time, educational establishments must check their electrical systems, trees, and roofs to prevent incidents.
The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that due to the influence of storm Kalmaegi, heavy rain may occur in Ho Chi Minh City in the next few days. The peak tide is forecast to reach level III, concentrated in the late afternoon, which can easily cause flooding in many low-lying areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
