State Bank requires businesses to strictly comply with regulations on gold jewelry production.

The State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 Branch, has just sent a document to agencies and units such as the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City Police, and Region II Tax Department, requesting continued coordination in management and information and propaganda work so that businesses producing gold jewelry and fine art can grasp and properly implement policies and legal regulations for this activity.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Branch 2, gold jewelry production is a conditional business activity. In addition to meeting the legal requirements for the business (business registration certificate and registration for the gold jewelry production industry), businesses must also meet the requirements for location, facilities and necessary equipment for this activity. At the same time, they must strictly comply with other regulations related to product labels, quality; invoices and documents; taxes, product origin, etc.

Management agencies require businesses producing gold jewelry and fine art to strictly comply with legal regulations.

"The issuance of a certificate of eligibility for the production of gold jewelry is an administrative procedure, the State Bank assigns the State Bank's regional branches to carry out.

We publicly post this procedure to guide businesses. Businesses that meet the regulations on conditions, documents, and procedures will be considered for certification.

This administrative procedure is free and does not cause any inconvenience or harassment. Businesses in need can contact us directly for instructions, without going through an intermediary/service and incurring unnecessary costs," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank, Region 2 Branch.

By the afternoon of May 14, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by businesses at VND118 million/tael for buying and VND120 million/tael for selling, down VND500,000/tael compared to the end of yesterday. The price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold was stable at VND112.5 million/tael for buying and VND115 million/tael for selling.
