Despite the frantic honking and the frantic slamming of brakes, as if racing against death, they remained nonchalant... posing for photos!

The accident in Ha Tinh province on March 1st, with images of the train crashing into a cliff and many sections of track being ripped up and deformed, had not yet subsided from viewers' horror when another incident related to railway safety added to the long-standing anxieties. This time, the anxiety stems from human error.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of March 12th in Vinh Phuc province, as the train was speeding towards the station, two women rushed onto the tracks, occupying the space. Despite the frantic whistles and the frantic braking, as if racing against death, they calmly posed for photos!

The way these two women posed for photos demonstrates recklessness and defiance of the law. Their behavior is no longer limited to disregarding their own safety, but also constitutes a challenge to the law, a mockery of social sentiment, and a blatant disregard for railway security and the safety of the general public.

Authorities have intervened. These individuals, who acted with impunity, will face penalties under Decree 100/2019 regulating traffic violations on roads and railways; and possibly even Article 318 of the Penal Code concerning "disrupting public order."

Broadly speaking, the outrageous and dangerous behavior of the two women mentioned above seems to reflect a current social phenomenon. Many individuals obsessed with virtual fame create "social media storms" by boasting and exaggerating their nonexistent abilities or the products and stories they want to promote.

Therefore, swift and decisive action from authorities in similar cases is essential.
