Today, June 2nd, the Hai Duong area continues to experience scorching heat with the highest temperature of the day reaching around 37-38 degrees Celsius. This is the temperature measured inside the weather station's shelter. However, from June 1st until now, the actual temperature measured on the road surface between 10 AM and 2 PM has reached over 40 degrees Celsius. The air is stifling, the road surface is burning hot, and the sunlight feels like fire pouring down on every rooftop and street. In Thanh Binh ward (Hai Duong city), a team of workers at the construction site of Mr. Bui Huy Kheo (from Ninh Giang district) had to put up additional insulation netting and use industrial fans to alleviate the heat. Many people have equipped themselves with cooling vests to cope with the scorching heat when working outdoors. The porters at Hoi Do Market (Hai Duong City) still take advantage of their lunch break to work as soon as goods arrive. Inside the market, even with the roof covering it, the heat wasn't much less intense than standing directly in the sun. Transporting taro from Bac Giang to the market, trader Nguyen Huu Long said: "No matter how hot it is, we have to ensure timely delivery; even a one-day delay can cost us our customers." In the midday sun, a few laborers found shelter under awnings as temporary refuge. The cool tiled surface became a precious place to rest their backs amidst the harsh weather. Even though they were working indoors, the heat-absorbing corrugated iron roof made every movement of the workers more strenuous than usual. These days, farmers in Thanh Ha district are entering the early lychee harvest season. To avoid the scorching sun during the day, many families use lamps to harvest lychees from nighttime. Having to work in sweltering weather, many people couldn't hide their exhaustion as sweat dripped down their faces without drying quickly. Nevertheless, during each break, they would break into gentle smiles, even though their shirts were soaked with sweat and the sun was blazing overhead. For them, each workday was a day lived to the fullest.VAN TUAN
