Vietnam - Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group receives Bulgarian Ambassador

Overview of the reception.

Attending the reception, on the side of Tay Ninh province, there was Mr. Pham Hung Thai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, member of the Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Parliamentarians Group.

At the reception, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Law Ngo Trung Thanh highly appreciated the strong developments in political relations between the two countries, especially the exchange of high-level delegations through Party, State and people-to-people channels; especially after the official visit to Bulgaria by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue in September 2023 and the visit to Vietnam in early 2024 by the Bulgarian National Assembly Chairman.

The visits opened a new stage of development for parliamentary relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria, promoting bilateral cooperation in all fields of politics, diplomacy , economy, trade, investment... In which Ambassador Pavlin Todorov played an important role in participating in the successful organization of the visits.

Thanking the Deputy Chairman of the Law Committee and the delegation for taking the time to meet, Ambassador Pavlin Todorov agreed with the assessment of the relationship between the two countries, and said that Vietnam is an important partner of Bulgaria in ASEAN. Bulgaria always supports promoting the cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union (EU). The two countries have much room to expand the fields of cooperation as Vietnam is a member of ASEAN and Bulgaria is a member of the EU. Thereby, Bulgaria wishes to continue cooperating with Vietnam at the United Nations and international forums; promote parliamentary diplomacy and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Also at the reception, Mr. Pham Hung Thai - Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh Province, member of the Vietnam - Bulgaria Friendship Parliamentarians Group, spoke to introduce some main features of the potential, strengths, major development orientations and socio-economic development situation of Tay Ninh Province. Mr. Pham Hung Thai emphasized that he was very excited and happy to join the delegation to welcome the Ambassador and Counselor of the Bulgarian Embassy at the National Assembly.

Mr. Pham Hung Thai emphasized that Tay Ninh is working with Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the region to promote infrastructure investment, form regional traffic connections, and strive to have a synchronized traffic system connecting the Southeast region by 2030, meeting the economic development requirements of the region and localities and attracting foreign investment.

The head of the National Assembly delegation of Tay Ninh province said that Tay Ninh has advantages in developing renewable energy, logistics and agriculture. In particular, with the advantage of Dau Tieng Tay Ninh irrigation reservoir - the largest irrigation reservoir in Southeast Asia, serving agricultural development very effectively, besides, Tay Ninh also has strengths in developing tourism.

“It is known that Bulgaria is a country with strengths in developing electricity, machinery and agriculture. Hopefully, in the coming time, the Ambassador will pay attention, introduce and create conditions for Tay Ninh province to connect with Bulgarian enterprises to exchange, invite investment, as well as have many opportunities for cooperation and mutual development,” Mr. Pham Hung Thai expressed.

Appreciating the potential, strengths, and development orientations of Tay Ninh, Ambassador Pavlin Todorov agreed with the proposal of the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tay Ninh Province. The Ambassador said that Bulgaria has technical assistance programs and feasibility studies for projects related to the province's potential and strengths, especially renewable energy.

Mr. Pham Hung Thai was delighted when he and other members of the Parliamentary Group received the Bulgarian Ambassador.

Ambassador Pavlin Todorov affirmed that he will make every effort to promote the cooperation between the two countries and the two National Assemblies in depth, practically and effectively; promote the tradition of friendly cooperation that has been cultivated by the two countries' senior leaders. The Ambassador also hopes that in the coming time, many Bulgarian businesses and investors will learn about and invest in Tay Ninh province.
