Couples who found love from the show Road to Olympia

After 25 seasons of broadcasting, Road to Olympia is not only an intellectual playground for high school students nationwide but also a place to record beautiful memories, interesting behind-the-scenes stories and especially the cradle of love for many couples.

Couple Thanh Tiep - Thanh Xuan

The first couple to become husband and wife in the Olympia contestants' community is Mai Thanh Tiep (former student of Bim Son High School, Thanh Hoa) and Nguyen Thanh Xuan (former student of Chau Van Liem High School, Can Tho ). Both born in 1984, while Thanh Tiep was one of the four contestants who made it to the final round in 2002, Thanh Xuan stopped at the quarter-final round.

Their friendship began when Thanh Tiep watched Thanh Xuan's competition on television to learn more about her opponent. The more he watched, the more he liked the smart and enthusiastic Can Tho girl. After the competition, their feelings gradually blossomed when Thanh Xuan went to Hanoi to study foreign languages, preparing to study abroad.

During Thanh Xuan's time studying abroad in Australia, the two kept in touch via email; often sending each other 4-5 letters a week. After 7 years of being friends, 2 years of officially dating, they moved in together in 2010. The small family currently lives in New Zealand and has two lovely children.

Couple Pham Ngoc Vien Linh - Cao Minh Thuy Linh

Pham Ngoc Vien Linh and Cao Minh Thuy Linh both participated in Olympia in the 7th year. After the competition, they both studied at university in Ho Chi Minh City, but it was not until they met again by chance in the Business Administration class of the Open University that their relationship began.

Vien Linh studied Medicine and Pharmacy, Thuy Linh studied Economics and Law, but they found common ground through their extracurricular studies. Love came gently and steadily, and in 2011, their wedding took place with the blessings of many Olympian friends. The couple now has a cute baby boy.

Couple Tran Anh Dung - Tran Thi Thanh Hang

Tran Anh Dung (week 2 – February – quarter 2, season 12) and Tran Thi Thanh Hang (week 1 – January – quarter 2, season 15) are one of the most famous couples of Olympia.

In 2018, Anh Dung's laurel wreath proposal to Thanh Hang "stormed" social networks. The laurel wreath - the symbol that the two were attached to in the program - became a testament to the memory of their accidental relationship.

They both watched each other on television, but it was not until the Olympia anniversary gala that they met. From there, they got to know each other, fell in love and got married in March 2018. In the wedding photo album, Anh Dung also gave Thanh Hang the awards he won at the weekly and quarterly competitions as a way to preserve beautiful memories.

Couple Vu Thi Phuong Quynh - Pham Van Thang

Vu Thi Phuong Quynh (season 4) and Pham Van Thang (season 2) first met at the Olympians exchange in 2003.

During that meeting, Mr. Thang was attracted to the smart, gentle and pretty girl Phuong Quynh in the same group. The two continued to keep in touch after that. From the meetings together, the two gradually understood and had feelings for each other.

Couple Vu Thi Phuong Quynh - Pham Van Thang.

They got married and had a daughter named Pham Ha Minh. Van Thang said that since she was little, her daughter loved the program her parents participated in and hoped that one day she would compete to win the laurel wreath, following in her parents' footsteps.

Couple Tran Van Ngoc Tan and Nguyen Ngoc Trang

The next couple is Ngoc Tan (season 7) and Ngoc Trang (season 8). The two first met at the show's 10th Anniversary Gala. From the first meeting, they had a good impression of each other, but love challenged them with a distance of nearly 2,000 km.

After Olympia, Ngoc Trang chose to study at Foreign Trade University, while Ngoc Tan studied at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - National University. After that, both of them studied abroad to improve their knowledge and expertise.

In 3 years, they only met 25 times. Then Trang went to study abroad, and in 2 years they only met 4 times. It was their perseverance and trust that helped them overcome the distance and finally have a happy ending. The wedding photos taken in Paris are a sweet gift they gave each other after a long journey. Currently, Ngoc Tan and Ngoc Trang live and work in Norway.

Couple Dao Van Anh - Nghiem Quoc Huy

Dao Van Anh and Nghiem Quoc Huy (both born in 1997, participated in season 15) are the latest couple brought together by Olympia. After 10 years, they returned to the studio to take a special wedding photo shoot.

"Having the opportunity to take wedding photos at such a special location, we feel lucky. When we heard the audience clapping, we were a bit shy and happy," Van Anh shared.

Van Anh recalls that in 2015, she and Quoc Huy competed in two different matches. She stopped at the weekly round, while Quoc Huy excelled and advanced straight from the weekly - monthly - quarterly rounds. One time, by chance, watching TV, Van Anh saw Huy's performance and was immediately impressed by the bright face, confidence and rich knowledge of the male student.

After the show, both joined the community of former Olympia contestants, and from there gradually became close friends. After graduating from university, Van Anh became a lawyer specializing in legal advice for businesses, while Quoc Huy pursued a career as an engineer in the aerospace field.

On April 30, Quoc Huy officially proposed to Van Anh. In early October, the couple officially got married after 2 years of dating.
