See the volcanoes of Kamchatka, go on a polar expedition and visit the tip of the Eurasian continent... These impressive experiences await you on a memorable journey to Russia.
Lake Harpicha, Putorana Plateau
The Krasnoyarsk to Dundika cruise is one of the most exciting excursions in Russia, popular with locals and tourists alike. The trip takes travelers into the Arctic, touring the railway and exploring the picturesque Putorana plateau. It takes 11-12 days to travel 2,000 km along the Yenisey River on comfortable cruise ships, complete with restaurants, gyms and SPA facilities. This is the most expensive cruise in Russia, with prices starting at 500,000 rubles (about 142 million VND), including 3 meals a day, excursions and helicopter tours of the Putorana plateau, and a fishing trip.
Across the White Sea to Solovetsky
The Solovetsky Islands can only be reached by boat, as the local airport is not regularly operating. The nearest port is Rabocheostrovsk (Republic of Karelia), but the cruise ship journey is much more interesting. The tour lasts several days on the islands, exploring strange monasteries, barracks, old prisons, stone labyrinths and other hard-to-reach places. The journey also visits the port of Arkhangelsk and the cities of Karelia. The routes start from St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and Moscow, last from 7 to 20 days, and cost from 50,000 rubles (about 14 million VND).
On an icebreaker to the Arctic
The wealthy are willing to spend $30,000 to book the trip a year and a half in advance, with the final departure from Murmansk a few months before the trip. Passengers spend two weeks on a nuclear icebreaker, periodically stopping at Arctic ports. If the weather is good, they can take a dip in the ocean and picnic on the ice floes. The route passes Franz Josef Land, where passengers can photograph polar bears without leaving their cabins. The final destination is the North Pole, before the icebreaker returns.
From Kamchatka to Chukotka
Russia’s Far East is home to many unspoiled and fascinating destinations. Tours depart from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Anadyr, and include visits to several remote islands. Wrangel Island, known as the “bear nursery,” is home to more than 300 bear cubs each year. The Diomede Islands mark the change of the calendar year and the border between Russia and the United States. Yttygran Island has a mysterious whale alley, an ancient Eskimo reserve, and Cape Dezhnev, the easternmost point of Eurasia. Some tours also visit other islands and settlements with unique birds and marine animals. These two-week trips cost around 700,000 rubles (about 200 million VND) and will leave visitors with unforgettable memories.
Arctic Journey Through Yakutia
The Lena River in Yakutia (Sakha Republic) is one of the few places that still retains its pristine natural beauty. The journey starts in Yakutsk, the world's largest permafrost city, and ends in the settlement of Tiksi outside the Arctic Circle. Along the way, the cruise ship stops at the Lena Pillars and small Even settlements, where visitors can meet indigenous Yakutian tribes and see the lost islands of the Laptev Sea. This two-week excursion costs around 300,000 rubles (about 85 million VND).
