Majors at top universities only need more than 5 points/subject to pass

At many top schools, the standard score can be up to 27-30, but there are also majors that only require 15-17, which means only more than 5 points/subject to be admitted.

In the Northern region, the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi this year has 2 majors with an absolute score of 30/30: English Pedagogy and Chinese Pedagogy. In addition, many other majors also have a score of 26-28 such as Japanese Pedagogy, Korean Pedagogy, English Language, Chinese Language, etc.

However, there is a major at this school that has a benchmark score of only 15.06, which is Economics - Finance. Thus, candidates only need to score more than 5 points/subject to be admitted.

At Hanoi Medical University , the highest standard score for Medicine is 28.13 points. Following is Dentistry with 27.34 points. However, some majors only require 17 points, including Preventive Medicine (group B00), Social Work (group A00, B00, B08), Nursing Thanh Hoa branch (group A00, B00).

Thus, with less than 6 points/subject, candidates can be admitted to these majors. This score has decreased significantly compared to last year, in which Preventive Medicine decreased by nearly 6 points, and Nursing at Thanh Hoa branch decreased by 3.25 points.

At the University of Transport, if considering the high school graduation exam scores, there are majors with a standard score of over 27, such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, but there are also many majors that candidates only need to score over 5 points/subject to be admitted, such as: Traffic Construction Engineering, Vietnamese-English Construction Management, Urban and Construction Management...

In the Southern region, the University of Natural Sciences , Ho Chi Minh City National University has many majors with benchmark scores "close" to the threshold of 30 such as Computer Science (advanced program) and Artificial Intelligence, with scores ranging from 29.1 to 29.92. Many other majors have benchmark scores above 28 such as the Data Science - Statistics group, Microchip Design, etc.

However, the Environmental Science program with enhanced English at this school has a benchmark score of only 17 points, based on the D07 combination and 17.6 points for the B00 combination. Thus, to be admitted to this major at the school, candidates only need to score less than 5.7 points/subject.

Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education also has majors with a benchmark score of nearly 30, namely Chemistry Pedagogy with 29.38 points, Literature Pedagogy with 29.07 points. In addition, some majors with benchmark scores above 28 are Mathematics Pedagogy, Physics Pedagogy, History Pedagogy, Physics Pedagogy... However, the school also has some majors with low benchmark scores such as Russian Language, French Language.

Or at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the highest benchmark this year is Medicine with 27.34 points. Some majors have benchmark scores that have decreased from more than 3 to nearly 5 points: Preventive Medicine, Traditional Medicine, Midwifery, Nutrition, Nursing. Of which, Nutrition has the sharpest decrease, from 24.1 points in 2024 to 19.25 points in 2025.

In addition, the school also has majors that require only about 17 points, such as Public Health and Social Work. Thus, candidates only need to score less than 5.7 points/subject to be admitted to these majors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
