New York City tops Time Out list

CNN quoted Time Out as saying that the results were drawn from a survey involving about 20,000 urban residents around the world , as well as the company's global network of writers and editors.

Factors considered included cuisine , architecture and culture in each city.

Time Out's aim is to provide " travel inspiration" to people everywhere, as well as provide exclusive images of the world's best cities in 2024.

The network of museums and theaters is why Time Out chose New York City for the top spot. New York's global reputation also contributed to the US city's ranking.

Unsurprisingly, Europe has the most cities in the top 10, with Berlin (Germany), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Liverpool (UK), Rome (Italy), and Porto (Portugal).

Among them, Porto was especially agreed by survey participants to be a great city for romance.
