Lung Hoai school is nearly 3km from the center of Thuong Nung commune (Vo Nhai) and is located on a high mountain. The road from the center of the commune to the school has been concreted by the State, but travel is still difficult due to many steep slopes and winding curves. This school year, the school has 57 students from grades 1 to 5. 100% of the students here are Mong ethnic people and all come from poor and near-poor households.

Although the school has received attention and support from many organizations and individuals over the years, the facilities and living conditions for the boarding students are still facing many difficulties. Some classrooms and lunch and lunch areas are still cramped and hot, built with corrugated iron sheets. In particular, the road of more than 100 m connecting the main road of the hamlet to the school is still a dirt road, muddy in the rainy season.

Mr. Vu Trung Kien, Vice Principal of Thuong Nung Primary School, shared: The school currently has 50/57 students eating at school. Each meal for the students is currently worth 10,000 VND/student/day. The money for the students' meals has been supported by the Fund for Poor Students in the Highlands since 2018. Parents take turns to cook for the children every meal because the school does not have a cook.

Understanding the difficulties of the students here, 30 members of the Vietnam Volunteer Student Organization in Hanoi visited and presented gifts, such as: 3 bookshelves, books, school supplies, and school construction support funds. The gifts, although not large, contained the members' love and sharing for the children in the highlands.
