To realize the goal of turning industry into a key economic sector, creating momentum and breakthroughs for local economic development, in recent times, the Quang Tri Industry and Trade Department has always accompanied businesses, and at the same time implemented many solutions and specific directions to remove difficulties and support sustainable production development. Along with that, the determination and efforts of the business community and the active support from all levels and sectors have helped key businesses in the processing and manufacturing sector maintain stable operations, proactively plan production and ensure long-term orders.
After a period of stagnation due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the global economic recession, the Quang Tri textile and garment industry has returned to growth since the end of 2023. Currently, the province has 9 large garment factories and dozens of small and medium-sized establishments, creating jobs for about 10,000 workers. Deputy Director of S&D Quang Binh Co., Ltd. Au Van Dung said: "In 2025, the company aims to produce 6 million products. Up to now, we have completed about 2/3 of the plan and are making efforts to overcome difficulties, stabilize orders and markets to complete the set targets."
The Industry and Trade sector is making every effort to complete the targets and plans set for 2025, focusing on sustainable industrial and trade development, supporting businesses to recover and grow. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Xuan Minh, one of the key tasks of the sector is to promote the progress of key power production projects, such as: Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant; wind power projects in Huong Linh, Huong Phung, Lao Bao; industrial clusters in Gio Linh, Hai Lang...
The Department is actively advising the Provincial People's Committee to remove obstacles in bidding for investor selection, and at the same time, coordinating with Vietnam Electricity Group and investors to complete items according to plan. In the field of trade, the industry focuses on closely monitoring the operations of import-export enterprises, supermarkets, shopping centers, markets, petroleum trading units, border trade... to promptly advise on solutions to remove difficulties, ensure smooth supply chains of goods, stabilize prices and markets.
