Professor Pierre Agostini from Ohio State University (USA); Professor Ferenc Krausz from the Max-Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany); while Professor Anne L'Huillier from Lund University (Sweden).
This is the 117th Nobel Prize in Physics announced in history and Ms. Anne L'Huillier becomes the 5th female scientist to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics.

According to the Nobel Assembly, the experiments of the three scientists just honored have given humanity new tools to explore the electronic world inside atoms and molecules.
They have demonstrated a method for generating extremely short pulses of light that can be used to measure rapid processes in which electrons move or change energy.
After the Nobel Prize in Physics, the Nobel Prizes in Chemistry, Literature, Peace and Economics were announced from October 3 to 9.
Previously on October 2, the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine honored two scientists Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissma.
They have been collaborating on research at the University of Pennsylvania (USA) for decades to optimize mRNA technology in vaccine development, thereby contributing to the unprecedented speed of COVID-19 vaccine development.
Each prize will be worth 11 million SEK (Swedish krona, equivalent to more than 986,000 USD), expected to be awarded with a certificate and medal on December 10, the anniversary of founder Alfred Nobel's death.
The Nobel Prizes in Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Economics will be awarded in Stockholm, Sweden; the Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded in Oslo, Norway.
