Doctors at Can Tho Central General Hospital successfully performed surgery to reattach the foot of a young man (Ke Sach district - Soc Trang) who had an accident with a three-wheeled vehicle carrying iron, severing more than 1/3 of his foot.
Previously, while traveling by motorbike, Mr. HVT, born in 1986, collided with a three-wheeled vehicle carrying iron. After the accident, Mr. T. had 1/3 of his right foot severed, exposing the tendons.
Due to the severity of the injury, after receiving first aid, compression bandages, IV fluids, pain relief, and preservation of the severed limb from the local hospital, the patient was transferred to Can Tho Central General Hospital.
Recognizing this as an emergency, the patient was quickly transferred to the operating room for surgical debridement, wound treatment, microsurgical suturing of arteries and veins, and bone fixation. At the same time, suturing restored the entire anatomy of the severed foot within 4 hours.
