Early in the morning of February 19 (January 10), many people in the capital went to the "gold street" Tran Nhan Tong to buy gold for luck on the "God of Wealth" day. However, according to records, there was only one gold shop on the whole street with a queue of people, crowded and bustling with buyers.

Due to the large number of people, this store had to issue tickets and number the buyers.

Before that, at around 3:30 a.m., Mr. To Hoa Binh (Dong Da district) was the first person to line up to buy gold at this store. "Every year I wake up really early to buy gold on God of Wealth day in the hope of having good luck all year round," Mr. Binh said.

Although having to wait hours for their turn to buy gold, many people still happily and patiently wait.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Linh (Hoan Kiem district) said she had to wake up at 4am to line up to buy gold on God of Wealth day.

An employee said that on God of Wealth's day, the number of customers increased dramatically, so the store mobilized all staff and prepared plans to serve the best. "This year, plain gold products and gold rings are chosen by many people, most customers coming to the store buy from 1 tael or more to bring luck at the beginning of the year. In addition, gold products with dragon mascots and God of Wealth are also sought after by many people," said this employee.

However, many other gold shops on Tran Nhan Tong "gold street" are deserted and desolate.

According to observations by Dan Viet reporters, the number of customers buying gold on God of Wealth Day in 2024 decreased slightly compared to previous years.
