The Xin Man (Vietnam) - Do Long (China) bilateral border gate officially came into operation on March 26, 2018 after the People's Committee of Ha Giang province (old) and the People's Government of Yunnan province (China) jointly organized the official opening ceremony. Thereby, gradually promoting import-export, immigration and border economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of people on both sides of the border.

During the visit and inspection, comrade Ma The Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, acknowledged the efforts of the local government in protecting the national border sovereignty as well as developing trade activities at the Xin Man - Do Long border gate pair. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ma The Hong hoped that the Party Committee and government of Xin Man commune, the armed forces and relevant sectors in the area would continue to do a good job in protecting the national border sovereignty, creating favorable conditions for trade activities through the border gates between residents of the two countries. He requested the border guards to continue raising awareness so that people can clearly understand the role and significance of markers, especially national border markers, and at the same time implement specific protection measures such as patrolling, checking, and preserving the integrity, contributing to building an increasingly strong people's border defense.
