Nearly 1,000 soldiers of Division 2 help Gia Lai people overcome the consequences of storm No. 13

In the past few days, nearly 1,000 officers and soldiers of Division 2 (Military Region 5) have been divided into many directions to join the people of Gia Lai province in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 13.

In the past few days, the Division's forces have assisted in evacuating and bringing 144 households home safely; cleaned and disinfected 31 schools; Gia Lai Provincial General Hospital, markets, and cleared roads for 5 isolated households; cleared more than 30 km of roads; cleared dozens of tons of garbage and thousands of fallen trees, helping people harvest rice and crops that were flooded.

Present to direct the unit to help people when the storm had just passed, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Long Vong, Deputy Division Commander and Chief of Staff shared: "Helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters is a task, and at the same time, the sentiment and responsibility of soldiers towards the people. Officers and soldiers of Division 2 always uphold the spirit of solidarity, are ready to share difficulties with people, contributing to strengthening the close relationship between the army and the people."

As a cadre who always accompanies and works side by side with the unit to help people overcome the consequences caused by the storm, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Phung, village chief of An My village, An Luong commune, was moved: The love between the army and the people is very warm. You guys do not mind the difficulties and hardships, come to the people before the storm arrives to support us against the storm, work side by side with the people to ensure safety. As soon as the storm has passed, you guys rolled up your sleeves to help people overcome the storm regardless of sun or rain, day or night so that people can soon stabilize their lives. I love you "Uncle Ho's soldiers" so much.

Private Huynh Anh Vu, from Lien Tri village, Xuan An commune, Gia Lai province, a soldier of Company 5, Battalion 2, Regiment 1, shared that he was doing work to help people 40km from home while his hometown also suffered a lot of damage due to storms and floods; his family suffered damage to their house and property worth about 100 million VND..., but he still put aside his personal feelings to complete the common task.

After storm No. 13, all 22 households with 85 people in An Quang Dong village, De Gi commune, Gia Lai province had their houses damaged by the storm. “Looking at the people, I saw my family there, so my teammates and I tried our best to help them as much as possible. I believe that at home, my parents also have teammates, the local government and the people will also help like we are doing for our people. I feel more confident and tell myself to try my best to overcome the consequences of the storm, helping the people to stabilize their lives soon,” Private Hoang Anh Vu said.

The image of the soldiers of Division 2 wading in the rain, wholeheartedly working with the people to overcome the consequences of the storm left many emotions, clearly showing the close relationship between the army and the people, deep affection, contributing to further beautifying the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime.

In many other localities of Gia Lai province, officers and soldiers of units under Military Region 5 were also present, regardless of hardship day and night, helping people overcome the consequences of storm No. 13 and soon stabilize their lives:
