

Reporting at the ceremony, a representative of Yen Thai village said that Yen Thai pagoda is located on a high, open land, not only a place for spiritual and cultural activities of the people, but during the two resistance wars of the nation, Yen Thai pagoda was also a secret place for guerrillas, a place of communication for revolutionary cadres, an ammunition depot for the army and a school.
Yen Thai Pagoda has been restored and repaired many times, especially in 1854 (under the reign of King Tu Duc) and 1900 (under the reign of King Thanh Thai). Currently, the pagoda still preserves a system of Buddha statues from the Nguyen Dynasty and many valuable artifacts.
Through the process of collecting, consolidating documents and completing the dossier, with the attention of the Party Committee, the government, the coordination and support of Buddhist monks and nuns and local people, along with the guidance of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , on May 24, 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 2617/QD-UBND recognizing the historical and artistic relic of the city for Yen Thai pagoda relic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Dong Commune, Pham Gia Loc, affirmed that Yen Thai Pagoda being ranked as a city-level relic is both an honor and pride of the locality, and at the same time, it is the responsibility of all cadres, party members and people in the work of preserving and promoting the value of the relic.
Chairman of Son Dong Commune People's Committee Pham Gia Loc requested local people to do a good job of preserving, embellishing and protecting landscapes, architecture and antiques; maximizing the role of socialization in preserving relics, contributing to turning relics into community living spaces, cultural and tourist destinations associated with local socio- economic development.
