The event was organized by the Hanoi People's Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , aiming to preserve the cultural values of craft villages, honor artisans and skilled workers, and promote international promotion, exchange and cooperation in the field of handicrafts.

With more than 1,350 craft villages, Hanoi is considered the “Capital of the quintessence of traditional Vietnamese crafts”, a place to preserve and spread the cultural, artistic and creative values of the nation. This festival carries the message of “Preservation – Development – International Integration”, associated with the orientations of green, ecological craft villages, digital transformation and towards Net-Zero, for a sustainable future.
Within the framework of the program, the World Craft Council (WCC) will evaluate and recognize two typical craft villages of Hanoi - Son Dong (fine art lacquer sculpture) and Chuyen My (mother-of-pearl lacquer inlay) - to become official members of the WCC, following the success of Bat Trang Ceramics and Van Phuc Silk in the World Network of Creative Craft Cities.
The Festival space is divided into many exhibition and experience areas: Honoring international craft villages; Preserving heritage; Exhibition of craft village tourism, Green economy, Net-Zero, Digital transformation; Exchange of international artisans and artists and demonstration of regional OCOP cuisine. Along with that is a series of seminars, investment promotion conferences, handicraft product competitions and safe agricultural product fairs.
The 2025 International Craft Village Festival is not only an important cultural, economic and foreign affairs event of the Capital, but also a bridge connecting the quintessence of Vietnamese handicrafts with international friends. The event contributes to making Hanoi a center connecting the quintessence of world handicrafts, spreading the message: "From heritage to creativity - from the hands of artisans to the future of humanity".
