Specifically, the landslide occurred at the Suspension Bridge (located on the D'ran Pass, on National Highway 20, the section connecting the center of Da Lat to the old D'ran town). The landslide occurred at Km262+400, with a large amount of soil, rocks, and pine trees spilling from the embankment onto the road. A section of the road near the Suspension Bridge also cracked, posing a risk of subsidence and collapse into the embankment.
Immediately after receiving the information, forces from the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat and D'ran commune to approach the scene and deploy traffic control and guidance.
Due to the unsafe condition of the road through the landslide area, authorities have been stationed there, blocking traffic from a distance to prevent two-way traffic on the aforementioned section of National Highway 20 affected by the landslide. Simultaneously, they are directing vehicles to travel from the foot of D'ran Pass towards National Highway 27 to reach Da Lat via Prenn or Mimosa Pass (and vice versa if vehicles need to travel between Da Lat and Phan Rang).
The D'ran Pass is part of the route connecting the center of Da Lat with the town of D'ran in the former Don Duong district. The D'ran Pass is approximately 10km long and is the final section of National Highway 20, connecting to National Highway 27, which leads to Phan Rang (formerly Ninh Thuan ). The D'ran Pass has many dangerous curves, with pine forests and steep slopes on both sides, making it highly susceptible to landslides during prolonged heavy rains.
