Storm No. 3 in 2024 ( Yagi Storm) and storms in 2025 caused serious landslides in many places on Provincial Road 152. The road surface was damaged and narrowed, the drainage system was clogged, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.

The major landslides are concentrated at Km15+600, a positive slope landslide, about 60 m long along the road surface, about 30 m wide perpendicular to the road and about 25 m high; Km21+100 a negative slope landslide, about 25 m long, about 20 m deep, encroaching on the road surface, causing damage to the corrugated iron guardrail system.
Mr. Tran Vu Minh Thuan, a tourist from Dong Tien Hai commune, Hung Yen province, said: I came to Sa Pa for sightseeing and relaxation. When I passed this road, I saw a landslide, making it very difficult and dangerous to travel. I hope that the authorities and localities will soon fix the landslide so that travel will be more convenient and safer.
Mr. Dang Phuc Them, Phong Du Ha commune, Lao Cai province, who often passes through landslides on Provincial Road 152, also expressed his concern: I often pass through this road and see that the landslides have been going on for quite a long time. I hope that the authorities will soon take measures to resolve the situation so that tourists and people can travel more conveniently.
For professional drivers, the narrow and bumpy road conditions make traveling even more challenging. Truck driver Nguyen Van Thai, from Hiep Hoa Commune, Bac Ninh Province, said: Landslides have made the road narrow and full of potholes. Traveling is very difficult, especially for large vehicles, which have difficulty avoiding each other.
Immediately after the landslide occurred, the Lao Cai Provincial Road Maintenance Management Board quickly deployed temporary measures and developed a plan to thoroughly fix the problem.
Mr. Tran Cong Hoa - Deputy Director of Lao Cai Province Road Maintenance Management Board said: Provincial Road 152 has two landslides that have been cleared to ensure traffic safety, but the volume of rock and soil is still very large. The province has allowed the establishment of a project to completely fix these two landslides.
The decision to establish the project shows the drastic involvement of Lao Cai province in dealing with degraded infrastructure. The project focuses on two serious landslides with specialized and modern technical solutions, with a total estimated cost of more than 2.9 billion VND.

The complete restoration of landslides on Provincial Road 152 not only ensures traffic safety but also has an important strategic significance for the socio-economic development of the province. When the road surface is restored and the traffic safety system is installed synchronously, the risk of accidents, especially at narrow curves and weak roadbeds, will be significantly reduced, bringing peace of mind to transport units and millions of tourists.
Provincial Road 152 plays an important role, directly affecting the impression of tourists when coming to Sa Pa. A safe, smooth and quality route will contribute to enhancing the image, reputation and attractiveness of the national tourist area. At the same time, convenient traffic infrastructure is an essential condition for transporting goods, agricultural products and promoting trade and service activities of the people.

With the drastic participation of all levels, sectors and localities, it is hoped that the landslide treatment on Provincial Road 152 will soon be completed, bringing a safe and smooth route, effectively serving the travel needs of people and tourists.
