Initial reports indicate that rocks and soil unexpectedly slid down from the mountainside onto National Highway 6 at Thung Khe Pass, burying several motorcyclists and two road workers. Immediately after the incident, authorities promptly deployed search and rescue efforts. Currently, the local authorities are mobilizing dozens of militia members, along with the commune police and the Fire and Rescue Police force of Phu Tho province, to conduct search and rescue operations at the scene.
The Traffic Police Department of Phu Tho Provincial Police, in coordination with the road management unit, is diverting traffic to ensure the safety of vehicles passing through the landslide area.
National Highway 6 is a vital transportation route connecting Hanoi with the Northwestern provinces. The section passing through Phu Tho has complex terrain and a high risk of landslides, posing many potential dangers to people and vehicles, especially during the rainy season and adverse weather conditions.
