Người Lao ĐộngNgười Lao Động07/05/2023

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, today (May 7), the weather in the South will be cloudy and hot weather will continue to occur over a wide area. Some areas in the Eastern provinces will experience severe heat, however the intensity of the heat has decreased compared to 24 hours ago.

In the evening and at night, there will be showers and thunderstorms in about 1/3 of the area, with some places having moderate to heavy rain. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts of wind and hail.

The highest temperature during the day in the East is from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places are over 37 degrees Celsius, especially in Vung Tau 32-33 degrees. Similarly, in the West it is from 33-36 degrees Celsius.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, widespread heat in the South will continue today and tomorrow (May 8).

Starting around May 9, the weather in the South will change to cloudy, the heat will narrow and gradually decrease and then end in the area.

During this time, thunderstorms tend to increase, with showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night over half of the area, with moderate to heavy rain in some places. Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

"Due to the effects of hot weather combined with low humidity, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased demand for electricity. In addition, hot weather can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time," the agency warned.
