Kinh Mon farmers earn 50 million VND per sao of cassava sprouts

Cassava sprouts in Kinh Mon have high prices, but people should not propagate them en masse.

According to a survey by Hai Duong newspaper reporters, many people in the communes and wards of Thuong Quan and An Phu (Kinh Mon) are collecting cassava sprouts to sell to traders. The price of cassava sprouts is currently from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/pot, 6,000 - 8,000 VND/pot higher than last year. People earn about 50 million VND/sao, many times higher than rice cultivation.

The cultivation of cassava for sale is concentrated in the two above localities. Large households grow from 6 to 7 sao, small households grow also 1 to 2 sao. The cultivation of cassava begins in February, and by April it is harvested for planting or selling to Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh, Phu Tho provinces... Because people have experience in cultivation, the cassava here produces strong sprouts and grows well, so it is favored by the market.

The cultivation of cassava for sale has developed strongly in the past 2-3 years. However, experts recommend that people should not mass-produce this specialty plant.
