Female teacher lost nearly 100 million VND because of lottery scam

On September 27, Quang Ngai Provincial Police confirmed that a female teacher had just been scammed out of nearly 100 million VND by a stranger using the trick of receiving lucky money from an e-commerce platform.

Accordingly, on September 23, Ms. D.TBT (27 years old, residing in Mo Duc town, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province; teacher at a foreign language center) received a call from a stranger. This person claimed to be an employee of the e-commerce platform Tiki and informed her that she had won a prize.

Then, the subject asked Ms. T. to add her on Zalo and instructed her to participate in the event "Watch ads and receive lucky money" from Tiki.

Ms. T. continued to carry out the tasks instructed by this subject and had nearly 100 million VND appropriated.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
