According to Vietnam National University , Hanoi (VNU), this is a direction to standardize digital capacity, meet integration requirements and lead digital transformation.

Specifically, VNU has proactively developed the course “Introduction to digital technology and artificial intelligence applications” to equip students with basic knowledge of digital thinking and common tools of artificial intelligence (AI) right from the first year. The course will be officially deployed from the 2025-2026 school year in the form of fully online training.

Not only stopping at teaching familiar information technology knowledge and applications as before, this course also focuses on updated content, approaching the digital competency framework of countries around the world such as data mining, digital communication, creativity in digital environment, digital security, exploiting and applying AI to serve learning and research in different professional fields. The course also emphasizes promoting independent and creative thinking, not depending on AI for students - the young generation of knowledge, young human resources, while ensuring academic integrity and ethical issues, responsibility in AI application.

The development of common courses and the implementation of online teaching throughout VNU aim to unify output standards on digital technology knowledge and skills for students in all training fields, meeting the requirements of the Digital Competency Framework.

This course is expected to be issued at the end of May 2025 and will be applied for online teaching from September 2025 for students enrolled from 2025 throughout VNU.
