Female student of Thanh Dong University shines with 'Future Star' award at prestigious Chinese school

Nguyen Thi Huong Ly, born in 2005 in Bac Ninh, is currently a student majoring in Chinese Language, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Thanh Dong University. Although she is only a first-year student, Huong Ly has quickly asserted herself and achieved a proud achievement when she won the “Future Star” certificate in the short video contest with the theme “Me and China” organized by Tianjin Normal University (China).

Having a love for Chinese language and culture since childhood, Huong Ly has nurtured the dream of pursuing this language for a long time. When she learned about Thanh Dong University with its modern learning environment and advanced teaching methods, she decided to choose this place as the destination for her dream. Huong Ly always has special affection for the learning environment at Thanh Dong University, where she received enthusiastic support and teaching from teachers. Thanks to her solid knowledge foundation and dedicated guidance from lecturers, especially Dr. Doan Ngoc Thach - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the female student overcame initial difficulties and achieved many remarkable progresses in her studies.

The female student shared: “Thanh Dong University is a pioneer in applying the teaching method 'Interactive Learning - Pedagogical interaction', promoting students' initiative and creativity. Different from the traditional learning method, students at the University are encouraged to participate in discussions, debates, group work and practical practice, in order to arouse their passion for learning, develop critical thinking, teamwork skills and problem-solving ability”. One of the important milestones in Huong Ly's learning journey at Thanh Dong University was when Mr. Thach announced the short video contest on the topic "Me and China". Inspired by the contest, Huong Ly decided to participate with a presentation about Do Temple, a famous landmark in her hometown of Bac Ninh. She spent more than a week researching and writing a draft for the presentation, then asked her teachers to revise it to perfect the content. During the filming of the video at Do Temple, the female student had to face hot weather and noise from Quan Ho performances, but thanks to her perseverance and support from teachers and friends, Huong Ly completed the video and submitted it to the contest. “Due to the difference in software between Vietnam and China, I had to submit my work via Baidu application, which caused many difficulties. However, with the help of a friend studying abroad there, I successfully uploaded the video. I hoped that the contest would win a prize, but I also felt self-conscious because the competition was very fierce when everyone's work was more perfect. Therefore, I just tried to study hard and wait for the results" - the female student recalled. After going through the rounds of competition and review, Huong Ly's entry won the prize. The "Future Star" certificate is not only the result of personal efforts but also the pride of the female student when studying at the school.
