Female athlete hangs medals all over her house, many curious customers come to buy sausages

Nguyen Phuong Anh (born 1999, Hanoi) is an athlete of the Vietnam national diving team. Recently, on a forum famous for the flex trend (showing off proud achievements that one has achieved), she shared about her family's small corner selling stone-grilled sausages right in front of her house.

Located on a crowded street in Hanoi, this booth is special because the background decoration is dozens of medals that Phuong Anh has won during many years of professional competition. Since its appearance, the scene has made many passersby curious.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Phuong Anh said that there are currently many places selling stone-grilled sausage - a street food that has been "all the rage" since the beginning of this year. Therefore, when her parents decided to start a business, she came up with the idea of creating a difference and uniqueness for her restaurant.

Phuong Anh takes advantage of the "home-grown" medals to give the restaurant its own distinctive features, while flexing her achievements after nearly 20 years of pursuing diving. There are a total of 51 medals hanging, including 20 gold, 16 silver, and 15 bronze that the female athlete brought home from national competitions, championships, and club competitions.

"When there are no customers, I feel very satisfied just sitting and looking at the medals," she said happily.

Phuong Anh started hanging the medals in front of her house about a week ago. On rainy days, she puts them away to dry before taking them out to display.

Phuong Anh’s shop is located right on the street, so it attracts a lot of attention and people taking pictures. In fact, many customers mistakenly think she sells or makes medals like this.

"I see the restaurant is more crowded, but it's mainly because people come to buy food," she shared.

Two decades of "air ballet"

Phuong Anh started diving in 2005, when she was only 6 years old. Before that, she was recruited by her teachers when she was in kindergarten. Having a passion for sports and fitness, the athlete has been pursuing it ever since.

According to Phuong Anh, diving is likened to "air ballet". This sport requires aesthetics, meticulousness, and carefulness of the entire body from the toes to the fingers.

To master even the simplest movement, divers must practice many complementary movements. The training content includes dry land exercises to complement water exercises.

After 7 years of hard training, Phuong Anh had her first chance to step onto the professional stage at the national championship. She clearly remembers the feeling of nervousness, anxiety mixed with excitement at that time. Right at this tournament, the female athlete quickly proved her ability by winning her first gold medal.

Many sports fans recognize Phuong Anh as having participated in the SEA Games since the 28th edition (2015). She was also honored to join the delegation of athletes carrying the sacred fire of the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022.

Before Phuong Anh, no one in her family pursued a career in sports. Her parents were proud that their daughter had become independent from a young age and had contributed to the country's sports. The unconditional support from her family made the female athlete always practice diligently with the sole goal of achieving the highest results.

On social networks, Phuong Anh impresses with her pretty appearance, especially her cute smile with crooked teeth. She is 1.60m tall, has a well-proportioned body thanks to sports training. This is also the reason why the female athlete is known by the nickname "hot girl diving".

Besides sports, Phuong Anh loves Korean music and is passionate about Kpop cover dance (dancing to existing choreography of Korean singers). She is a member of the dance group BLACKCHUCK - attracting more than 500,000 followers on YouTube.

Phuong Anh surprised many people when she was close friends with football player Bui Hoang Viet Anh. The two were in the same class in middle and high school. She once came to support the defender of the Hanoi Police Club and took a photo together in the final match of SEA Games 31 and AFF Cup .

When she is not busy with training and competition, Phuong Anh likes to stay home and help her parents sell goods. She has no specific plans for the future, but only wants to do well the work she has been doing.
