Nui Thanh district has vast mountains and forests in the West, coastal fishing villages in the East and fertile plains in the middle along both sides of National Highway 1, so it has abundant products for industrial production.
With this advantage, in recent years, Nui Thanh has promoted the development of ITNT products, OCOP products and typical products, contributing to promoting economic development, creating many jobs and increasing income for people.
The pioneer in producing ICT products is the Au Co Bamboo and Rattan Cooperative (Nui Thanh town). After a period of research and study in Ho Chi Minh City, artisan Nguyen Truong Thien has successfully produced products from bamboo and rattan, of which the most prominent product is the “Au Co Flower Basket”.
Mr. Thien’s products have been accepted by European countries, Japan, Korea, and the United States. Currently, Au Co rattan and bamboo products have become a brand and help create jobs for hundreds of rural workers.
In recent years, Nui Thanh district has seen the emergence of many establishments producing IT products, OCOP products and typical products. From 2018 to present, the whole district has had 30 products of IT facilities achieving OCOP ratings from 3 to 4 stars, of which 4 products achieved 4 stars and 26 products achieved 3 stars.
Many of Nui Thanh's agricultural products use HACCP-certified production processes; entities applying processing technology help create more diverse products from local agricultural products and increase product value.

However, IT establishments also face many challenges such as lack of production capital, input materials, outdated production technology, lack of skilled labor, etc. In order to develop typical IT products in the direction of urbanization, it is necessary to apply practical measures to overcome the shortcomings in IT production establishments.
Vice Chairman of Nui Thanh District People's Committee - Ngo Duc An said that in the orientation, the locality prioritizes the use of local materials to build ITNT products and OCOP products. Focus on building stable raw material areas, controlling the production process; prioritize products using local labor, ensuring increased value, and being environmentally friendly.
