The Fiat Topolino is just over 2.5 meters long, shorter than the VinFast VF3 that has just been revealed in Vietnam, becoming a pure electric vehicle for urban areas in Europe.
Fiat Topolino was first launched for the Italian market. This is a super small electric car with 2 doors, small design. Although the selling price has not been announced, it is expected to be very cheap, under 10,000 USD.
In essence, the Fiat Topolino is actually a Citroen Ami modified by Fiat to suit its strategy, as well as to serve Italian customers. Therefore, the Topolino is also classified as a "quadricycle" in Europe - small 4-wheeled vehicles with low maximum speed and not allowed to circulate on the highway, unlike traditional "cars".
Topolino has an overall length of only 2.53 m ( VinFast VF3 is longer than 3.1 m), the maximum speed stops at 45 km/h. Therefore, it can completely replace 2-wheel scooters and is especially suitable for young Europeans because it does not require a driver's license, people under 18 years old can still use it legally.
The Topolino's battery pack has a capacity of 5.4 kWh, allowing for a maximum range of 75 km and takes 4 hours to fully charge. The interior of the car has only 2 seats and no trunk. Instead, customers can choose to install an additional leather bag with a holder in the back of the car. In addition, the car is also equipped with a mini rechargeable fan (because there is no air conditioning system), Bluetooth speakers, a thermos bottle and 2 seat covers that can be used as towels.
In standard form, the Topolino has doors on both sides like a normal car. However, Fiat offers a special version called the Dolcevita, which does away with the conventional doors and only has a large rope separating the interior and exterior spaces. This version also has a fabric roof and the option of installing a water hose to easily wash the car after a trip to the beach.
The Fiat Topolino comes in just one body color. The Italian automaker says the exact price will be announced closer to its launch in late 2023 in Italy, but promises that the monthly cost of running the car will be the same as public transport.
