Passenger car encroaches on lanes and recklessly overtakes on Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway

The incident occurred at around 9:45 a.m. on April 20, 2024, at km 144 of Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway, a passenger bus with license plate 29F-03404 of G8 SaPa Open Tour was traveling at high speed in the direction of Hanoi - Lao Cai when it suddenly swerved into the opposite lane to overtake and almost crashed into a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.

Mr. NT D, the pickup truck driver, still in shock, recalled: "At the time of the incident, I was carrying my wife and two young children from Lao Cai to Hanoi. When I discovered the passenger bus encroaching on the lane, I continuously honked, flashed my lights, slowed down, and steered closer to the emergency lane to avoid a collision. However, the passenger bus continued to rush forward, almost hitting my car.

What's even more dangerous is that when the incident happened, my car was moving very close to a tanker truck carrying gasoline. If there had been a collision, I don't know what the consequences would have been. My wife and children were panicking and screaming, and they are still scared."

The incident was later shared on social media, causing outrage in the community due to the lack of awareness and disregard for the life of the G8 SaPa Open Tour bus driver.
