Despite their old age, the couple Manh Dung and Thanh Dau still call each other brother and sister very sweetly. When asked about the secret to maintaining a happy marriage of more than 60 years, artist Manh Dung said that after all these years, he still cannot stop being infatuated with his wife Thanh Dau.

Few people know that, in their youth, artist Thanh Dau was the one who fell in love with artist Manh Dung first, because he saw his simplicity and talent. However, artist Manh Dung was the one who confessed his feelings to his wife. In 1967, the couple officially got married and built a small family.

The male artist admitted that he and his wife, like other couples, sometimes have anger and difficulties, but all problems are soon resolved because the love they have for each other is immense.

"My point of view is to respect women in the family. That respect is shown in the fact that men must be the support for their wives and children both financially and spiritually. Men need to steer the family boat through difficult times," artist Manh Dung expressed.

Acting hard at the age of U90

Currently, at the age of over 80, artist Manh Dung and artist Thanh Dau live with their daughter in Ho Chi Minh City. Since their retirement, the couple has continued to act diligently, constantly contributing to art.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, artist Manh Dung shared: "Both my wife and I used to teach at the University of Theater and Cinema. Even though I no longer teach at the school, I am still passionate about art. I always guide young artists so that they have more knowledge in this profession."

He said that he and his wife often participate in graduation plays to support students. "Mr. Ba the Snake Catcher" of Dat Phuong Nam said that he is not only a senior artist, but also a teacher. That is why when he passes on his experience to the next generation, seeing "old bamboo and new shoots grow", he is extremely happy.

He confided that despite his age, the more he and his wife act and work, the healthier they become. If the film crew needs to move to many locations, he can still follow them to the end.

"Usually, I go to the set by myself. If my wife is filming with me, we go together. It seems that the more I film, the healthier I get. God has given me a clear mind at nearly 90 years old, so I never stop learning. I think it's because I constantly improve my spirit and mind that I'm getting healthier," he said.
