Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu holds the position of Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee

The Hanoi People's Council elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu, Director of the Department of Finance, as Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee; Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, as Vice Chairman of the City People's Council.

On the afternoon of November 13, continuing the 27th thematic session, the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021-2026, dismissed the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; elected the positions of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Council passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong from the position of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee due to accepting a new assignment. Mr. Le Hong Son was dismissed from the position of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee due to leaving work pending retirement.

Next, the Hanoi People's Council elected Mr. Tran The Cuong, member of the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee and Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, as Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council.

With the majority of delegates in agreement, Mr. Tran The Cuong was elected Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Tran The Cuong was born in 1973, from Hanoi, is a Doctor of Economics , Bachelor of Biology - Agricultural Engineering. He has held positions such as Head of the Cultural - Social Committee of the People's Council; Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tu Liem District (old), then held the position of Secretary of the Bac Tu Liem District Party Committee (old) for the 2020 - 2025 term.

From March 1, 2021, Mr. Tran The Cuong was mobilized and assigned by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to hold the position of Director of the Department of Culture and Sports. In August 2021, Mr. Cuong was appointed to hold the position of Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training until now.

In October 2025, he was elected by the Executive Committee of the 18th Hanoi Party Committee to the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

On the same afternoon, the Hanoi People's Council also elected a new Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee. Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu - former Chairman of the 18th Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Finance - was nominated to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

With the majority of delegates present in agreement, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu was elected Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 12, the Hanoi Party Committee voted to let Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu - member of the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee - cease participating in the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Committee, cease holding the position of Chairman of the 18th Party Committee's Inspection Committee, term 2025-2030, to introduce the City People's Council to elect him as Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu was born in 1969, from Hanoi, and has worked in Hanoi for many years. Before being elected Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Luu was Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of Thanh Xuan District People's Committee (old); then he worked at Hanoi Department of Finance, holding the position of Director of Hanoi Department of Finance.

On October 17, 2025, Mr. Luu was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, term XVIII.
