Hanoi elects Vice Chairman of People's Council and People's Committee

On the afternoon of November 13, the Hanoi People's Council passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong from the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee due to his new assignment. At the same time, Mr. Le Hong Son was dismissed from the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee due to his retirement.

The Hanoi People's Council elected Mr. Tran The Cuong, member of the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training, as Vice Chairman of the City People's Council.

Mr. Tran The Cuong was born in 1973, from Hanoi. He has a PhD in Economics , a Bachelor of Biology - Agricultural Engineering. He has held positions such as Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the City People's Council; Chairman and then Secretary of Bac Tu Liem District (old).

After that, Mr. Cuong became Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and then Director of the Department of Education and Training.

At the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025-2030, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.

On the same afternoon, the Hanoi People's Council also elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu, former Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and Director of the Department of Finance, to fill the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu was born in 1969, his hometown is Hanoi. Before being elected Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Luu was Secretary and Chairman of Thanh Xuan District (old); then he became Director of Hanoi Department of Finance.

At the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025-2030, Mr. Luu was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

On the afternoon of November 12, the Hanoi Party Executive Committee voted to let Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu stop participating in the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and stop holding the position of Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee to introduce the City People's Council to elect him as Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

The current leadership of the Hanoi People's Council includes Chairwoman Phung Thi Hong Ha. The Vice Chairwomen include Tran The Cuong, Pham Qui Tien and Pham Thi Thanh Mai.

The current leadership of the Hanoi People's Committee includes Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung (Chairman). The Vice Chairmen include Mr. Duong Duc Tuan (Standing Vice Chairman), Nguyen Manh Quyen, Nguyen Xuan Luu, Truong Viet Dung and Ms. Vu Thu Ha.
