Trump says US and China will 'cooperate' to resolve Ukraine issue

RT reported that US President Donald Trump made this statement after having direct talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea on October 30.

"We've been talking about Ukraine for a long time, and both sides will work together to see if something can be achieved," the US leader said.

"We will work together on Ukraine. There is nothing more we can do," the White House boss emphasized.

In remarks made in the South Korean city of Busan, President Xi Jinping also suggested that Beijing and Washington should "work together to achieve greater and more concrete things for the benefit of the two countries and the whole world ."

"As the world today is facing many difficult problems, China and the United States can jointly shoulder their responsibilities as major countries," Xinhua quoted President Xi Jinping as saying.

The Chinese leader said President Trump is "very enthusiastic" about resolving conflicts around the world, stressing that China has always considered peaceful negotiations as the way to resolve crisis situations.

In August, President Xi Jinping said China's stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict would not change and would continue to encourage talks no matter how the situation develops.
